More about CLC's Annual Benefit
Honoree Hadley Dale Hall
picture of Hadley Hall
San Francisco has been in the forefront of the national movement to build strong urban support networks to help seniors and people with disabilities, HIV and other chronic conditions stay in their own homes and communities. Our progress has been made possible because of leaders like Hadley Dale Hall. Hadley, a respected professional in the field, has also mentored generations who are, in their turn, leading the way.  Join us to recognize Hadley for his years of service and his extraordinary accomplishments. You will be joined Sept 18th by his fellow travelers in the journey toward a San Francisco where people age with dignity and human rights. Meanwhile, learn more about Hadley here.
Special Guest - Goeff Hoyle
picture of Geoff Hoyle in comedic pose

You may know Geoff Hoyle as a founder of SF's legendary Pickle Family Circus. You may have seen him on Broadway where he originated Zazu in The Lion King. Or maybe you've seen this well-known San Franciscan in Cirque Du Soleil's Novelle Experience, or possibly one of his own shows.

What you may not know is this joyful, thought-provoking performer is also the 2013-2014 Hellman Visiting Artist at UCSF's Memory and Aging Center. And, he will be joining us for the September 18 benefit as our special guest.

Benefit Sponsors & Silent Auction
This special benefit - and CLC's work - would not be  possible without the
delicious food on dinner plate
generous donations from our major sponsors -
Kaiser Permanente, the Denebeim Family, the Satten Family, On Lok/30th Street Senior Center, Openhouse and Bethany Center Senior Housing, along with all of our other donors and supporters.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

We look forward to seeing our sponsors, along with other San Franciscans, community advocates, and leaders, government and non-profit NGO officials for this celebration with cocktail buffet.

Because San Francisco restaurants of all types are keen to support this City and their neighbors, we've again organized a SF-wide Restaurants Silent Auction - a truly tasteful Silent Auction.  Enjoy!!!

The Power of Advocacy!
hanging new sign at university mound
Thanks to the efforts of AgeSong and a host of advocates and supporters, including the residents of University Mound and their families, this historic site will continue to provide supported living to current and a growing number of new residents.  With the help of investors, AgeSong was able to secure the funding to buy the building in August and plans are underway to make some needed repairs and to help current residents deal with the trauma of the past few months.   The site has a new name link to its history and a new philosophy - AgeSong University.    Read more here.
Cayuga Community Connectors - Update
women with always active sign
From Glenda Hope...

"The Cayuga Community Connectors (CLC) aging-in-place project brought an Always Active exercise class into the neighborhood last January.  This three-mornings a week class has attracted so many seniors - many bring friends and neighbors -- it has almost outgrown the space.  There is a lively buzz before and after classes as people (ages 64 to 89 years) get to know each other.

Now, twice-monthly refreshments, board games and post-class interaction have been initiated. Here, connections are built, community is deepened.

Many thanks to San Francisco Supervisor John Avalos and Director Anne Hinton (SF Department of Aging and Adult Services), for their support of this grassroots program."

CLC is proud to provide guidance and administrative services for these exuberant community happenings.  For more information or to attend, email Glenda at sfnm@pacbell.net.

Community Living Campaign Logo on green background

The nonprofit Community Living Campaign (CLC) has been working since 2007 to deliver programs and rally advocates who want to live in communities where people are less isolated and everyone is called to contribute.

CLC reweaves the relationships that people need to age and thrive in their own communities. We believe that seniors and people with disabilities are their own valuable assets -- they already know what their community needs. Working with these neighbors and local organizations, CLC develops free and low-cost programs to:

  • Reduce isolation
  • Increase access to technology
  • Promote advocacy and other skills
  • And make new friends

Because aging in community requires change at all levels, we also advocate for better, more realistic local, state and national government policies and funding.
