Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The 2014  Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (WPCU) will take place from January 18-25 under the banner of the theme:  "Has Christ Divided Us?"  (cf. 1Corinthians 1:13).

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years . . . , in which Christians around the world have taken part in an octave of prayer for visible Christian unity.  By annually observing the WPCU, Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper "that they all may be one."  (cf. John 17:21)

@Edgeperpetua

I should follow up that heading with possibly #edgerocks, or perhaps #godisinthehouse. If none of this is making sense, let me elaborate a little.

There is an app for smartphones (and tablets) called Instagram. Essentially you can post pictures and videos that will be shared with people that "follow" you. If none of this is making sense, you should bribe your children or grandchildren for a short tutorial. It's easier if you see it.

If you have an Instagram account (or your children do), I have a challenge for you. Edge (the middle school youth program) now has an Instagram account. If you search "edgeperpetua" under users, you shouldn't have any problem finding it. When you do, FOLLOW us! Essentially there will be positive messages posted throughout the week, as well as some highlights from the Edge Nights. I would especially encourage you to tell your teens about it and have them follow @Edgeperpetua.

Faith is like Wi-Fi, it's invisible but it has the power to connect you to what you need.

Your brother in Christ,

Adam Chaffey

Edge Coordinator

Taste of Kindergarten - January 14, 2014 at 8:45 a.m.

Incoming kindergarten age children and their parent(s) are invited to get a taste of kindergarten for a morning!  Enjoy a casual conversation with school administrators and staff, discussing our kindergarten program and common topics including kindergarten readiness, emotional maturity, creating smooth transitions and more. Parents will then accompany their children into the St. Perpetua School kindergarten classroom, under the supervision of our teaching staff, to experience a short lesson and project. You are invited to visit Cafe St. Perpetua and enjoy fresh baked goods, made from our local garden ingredients, and freshly brewed coffee. School tour provided and parents are given time to socialize. Parents must remain on campus during this special event. You will need to register for this event! Please do so here.
