130th anniversary of Brooklyn Bridge
This coming Sunday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m., parishioner Paul Giroux will be offering another outstanding presentation as he did a few months ago on the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge. In May, 2008, Paul served as the Chairman and keynote speaker for the 125th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. His audio-visual presentation brought to life the challenges of the bridge's construction and highlighted the lessons of the master builders John, Emily and Washington Roebling. Paul will be sharing this hour-long lecture at St. Perpetua on Sunday, April 28th at 4:00 in the Parish Hall. Come and learn why the story of Building the Brooklyn Bridge is "still the greatest bridge-building story of all." Paul is the recipient of the ASCE's prestigious Civil Engineering History and Heritage Award for 2013. We look forward to an informative and dynamic presentation. Join us for the presentation followed by refreshments! |

The Edge Program
Our last class for the Middle School Edge program will be April 30th. This year we have studied the 10 Commandments and 7 Sacraments. Our community service projects have included stuffing socks with toiletries for the homeless, wrapping Christmas presents for those in need, adopting a family, giving birthday gifts to children from the Southwest Key Shelter and collecting food for the needy. Our last class will be our 8th Grade Send-Off. We will be celebrating our 8th graders' faith journey and transition to Youth Group. Families are welcome. Our heartfelt thanks is extended to Michelle Chan, the program director for the past five years as she leaves her parish position. We are grateful for the love and faith she has extended to our sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
