Anka
Thank you to all of our families for bringing in so many supplies for the annual ANKA outreach project. We were able to fill 320 bags and each bag was overflowing with  socks, toiletries & candy. The children (grades Kindergarten through 8th grade) were very thoughtful as they filled their bags with just the right supplies.
Kristine, Michelle and The St. Perpetua Outreach Committee are grateful for your generosity!
Teen News
As part of our social justice service mission, eleven teens from St. Perpetua served at St. Anthony's Dining room in San Francisco on Sunday, December 9.  The teens help prepare and deliver trays, help keep the dining room clean and ready for guests, and help with craft projects to decorate the room.  St. Perpetua teens will serve in the dining room five different times this school year.

Christmas Prayer in Time of Tragedy
by Pat Finan

A time of joyful hope was shattered by violence with the school shooting on December 14 in Connecticut. The Prince of Peace was once a child whose peers were slain by Herod's senseless rage. Today, let us pray...

Immanuel,

God with us,

As a babe, you were spared the wrath of Herod,

But lived to feel the pain of the cross.

Be with us in our pain today

As we mourn the loss of so many

Taken so soon

For a "why" we may never grasp.

Mother Mary,

The distant sobs

Of your sisters and friends

Echoed 'til they reached you on Golgotha.

Be with parents and friends

Who mourn in these days

As they pray for it all

To make sense, to stop hurting.

Prince of Peace

Living Sign of God's love

You conquered death so we might live

In belief that you will come again.

Be with us now

To be strong for others

To speak truth to power, truth with love

To end violence, to let peace reign in our hearts.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
The Staff of
St. Perpetua Catholic Church
