Middle School Edge Program
|
This year our Edge students (grades 6-8) are studying the Seven Sacraments and the Ten Commandments. In addition, we have a few special events planned. On Tuesday Nov. 6, parents and teens attended a presentation on drugs and alcohol and what they do to the teen brain. It began with a group presentation to the youth and parents and then the youth worked on a project while the parents spoke with Jamie Rich from the Lamorinda Alcohol Coalition. The Lafayette Police Department also came and did a talk on peer pressure and making good decisions. In February, the Edge students will be going to Alliance Redwoods Retreat Center for a parent/child retreat. For additional information on the Edge, contact Michelle Chan at 925-899-1700.

Teen News
| |
Teens at St. Perpetua served out in the community volunteering time at the Contra Costa Food Bank last Tuesday. Here the teens sort food, verify it for consumption and package food up for distribution to local food pantries. Confirmation candidates and their sponsors gather on Sunday December 2 for an evening of seeing how to take the Good News and live it today and tomorrow by celebrating what is right with the world. If you would enjoy seeing a short inspirational video, join the Confirmation group at 7:00pm in the Church. On December 9 teens head out on a social justice trip to St. Anthony's in San Francisco where they will serve food, have an opportunity to mix with the poor and share stories.
