 |
| | Rev. Jacques A. Conway |
Bishop Sally Dyck is pleased to announce the appointment of the new Chicago Southern District Superintendent, Rev. Jacques A. Conway, effective September 1, 2016.
Rev. Conway follows the recently elected Bishop Tracy Smith Malone who served as the CSD Superintendent since 2011.
Rev. Conway currently serves Maywood: Neighborhood (3/4 time) and Chicago: St. Matthew (1/4 time). He became a probationary member of the annual conference in 1996 and a full member in 1999.
"Rev. Conway brings a passion for justice and mercy through his experiences with people who are in need. He has worked with a diversity of people that will serve him well in the Chicago Southern District," said Bishop Dyck.
Rev. Conway says he is both humbled and blessed to become the next Chicago Southern District Superintendent. "I am so grateful for the opportunity to return to where it all started for me in service and ministry, the Chicago Southern District. New Rainbow Covenant Book
 |
| |
Cover artwork by Jordan age 9 and Lauren age 10 from Mt. Hope UMC in McHenry.
|
With the new quadrennium, the Northern Illinois Conference Board of Global Ministries has updated the Rainbow Covenant Booklet for 2016-2020. It can be downloaded online and printed copies will be mailed in the fall to each church.
The NIC Board of Global Ministries took this opportunity to make a few changes to the Rainbow Covenant. Over the years, bands had been added to address different areas of mission and it became slightly confusing for local churches who were working on becoming Rainbow Covenant churches. There are now just six bands. To read more on the changes click here.
