A special 100th birthday celebration
For 65 years he rarely missed a Sunday service or a chance to minister to others. So when Fred Altergott turned 100 this week, it was fitting that Redeemer of Calvary United Methodist Church hosted the celebration.
Walk to end gun violence
On a chilly Saturday in December over 25 people joined the Rev. Fabiola Grandon-Mayer in front of Centennial United Methodist Church in Rockford to say prayers against the violence in the neighborhood, the community and the country. The group then walked and shared prayers at two places of violence but also places of hope.
It's not too early to start thinking about next summer and camp at Wesley Woods or Reynoldswood.
