United Voices for Children urges Gov. Rauner to reconsider budget cuts

Governor Rauner's FY2016 budget proposes critical cuts to programs which serve vulnerable children and families who continue to need safety net services.

The Methodist-affiliated child serving agencies, ChildServ, MYSI and Rosecrance are recipients of funding from the State of Illinois and other entities, as well as your United Voices for Children 5th Sunday Appeal donations.

Cuts in State funds to Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance program (CHIP), the Department of Children Family Services (DCSF), The Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) etc. will force these agencies to modify or eliminate some of their existing programs and services.

As our Legislators struggle over deficit reduction and the budget, we must ensure the needs of children will not be sacrificed. Let us speak on behalf of the voiceless, vote-less children of Illinois and Act Now!
