Communicator's
Corner

Beware!
Scam artists are continuing to call and email people impersonating Bishops, conference leaders and others and asking for money.

In most cases, they'll claim they need money for an "emergency" to help a relative in another country.

Even if they use the Bishop's name or someone from our Conference, do not send money and do file an incident report with the police.

Urban Strategy T-shirts for sale

Last May, Bishop Sally Dyck called on United Methodists across the conference to form a Chicago urban strategy to positively impact the city in the areas of: Education & Literacy, Community Safety, Restorative Justice and Food Security.

In August, about 50 United Methodists including youth and adults representing churches of the Chicago Southern/Northwest Districts and Conference Staff led by Bishop Sally Dyck marched in the 84th Annual Bud Billiken parade. They wore T-shirts that read "Praying for Our Schools" and "We Put Legs On Our Prayers" as a witness to the United Methodist Church's commitment to children, families, schools, education & literacy and community.

You too can show your commitment and pray for local schools beyond Chicago as these t-shirts are now available for purchase! Click here to buy.
