Noted author to speak at collegiate ministers' event
United Methodist collegiate ministers will join with colleagues from at least five mainline denominations at a gathering in Chicago this summer to explore how they can work together in the increasingly diverse and pluralistic atmosphere of the college campus. The event, Shared Space, will begin with a lecture and time of interaction with Diana Butler Bass, author of the best-selling "Christianity After Religion." The event will be held June 26-29 at Loyola University. Click here to register.

*Relief kits, especially health kits and school kits can be sent to any of the depots in the UMCOR Relief-Supply Network.
If you choose not to register with FEMA, you disqualify yourself from receiving federal disaster assistance.
Don't listen to rumors about eligibility for FEMA assistance. Instead, get informed.
Illinois residents who had losses or damages from the severe storms and flooding between April 16 and May 5 should register with FEMA, even if they think their damages and losses won't be covered.

Bishop Sally Dyck opened the 174th session of the Northern Illinois Annual Conference challenging us to answer the question "Who is my neighbor?". Read her entire Episcopal Address...click here.

motion passed to allow elections for General & Jurisdictional Delegates in the year 2014 (two years before General Conference)

Harvest 2020 combined efforts generated more than $8.6 million dollars.

Bishop Dyck challenged churches to join the effort to raise $1 million dollars for Imagine No Malaria.

Spanish as a Second Language courses will be offered starting in October.
- Clergy Session: Approved 7 candidates full elders, 2 full deacons, 10 candidates commissioned for provisional elders, 1 provisional deacon. Ordination service Saturday, June 8 at 2:30pm.

Congrats to Chicago Northwestern District which takes the lead with the most raised so far for the Bishop's Appeal...and in the running for the coveted traveling trophy! The Offerings from all 6 districts on June 5 totaled $60,861.38 for Harvest 2020! Thanks to every church for their abundant generosity!

Bethany Methodist Retirement Community Annual June FEST
Sunday, June 23, 1:30-3:30PM
During its JUNE FEST, BETHANY RETIREMENT COMMUNITY will hold an open ICE CREAM SOCIAL in its HERITAGE GARDENS, located at 4950 N. Ashland, Chicago (free parking).
There will be an art show, petting zoo, entertainment, tours and professionals available to discuss questions on all things eldercare-related.
From 2:00-2:30 PM a brief program will present information on Bethany outreach programs, BRC renovation plan, and expressions of gratitude to the members of its GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY - all residents, families and friends who contribute to Bethany's mission through volunteerism, donor support and advocacy.

United Voices for Children Launches Child Advocacy Survey
United Voices for Children invites all clergy and laity throughout the Northern Illinois Conference to participate during June in a brief survey on child advocacy in the NIC.
