Noted author to speak at collegiate ministers' event

United Methodist collegiate ministers will join with colleagues from at least five mainline denominations at a gathering in Chicago this summer to explore how they can work together in the increasingly diverse and pluralistic atmosphere of the college campus.

The event, Shared Space, will begin with a lecture and time of interaction with Diana Butler Bass, author of the best-selling "Christianity After Religion." The event will be held June 26-29 at Loyola University. Click here to register.

Kit Challenge Assembly Stocked and Ready

The Kit Assembly at Annual Conference is next week!  If you have kit items, please bring them to the mission truck on Wednesday, June 5 after 8 am.

We are still getting reports of congregations giving towards the kits. Thank you. This is an example of what we can do together that no congregation or individual could do alone.  We'll be able to assemble more than 1000 kits next Friday, June 7!

A special thanks this week goes to Harvard and Alden congregations supported this mission action by donating all of the nail clippers needed for the kit assembly.

If Alden/Harvard moves you to action, you can still help by either purchasing wide-toothed combs (available in 3-packs at Dollar Tree). Or your congregation can give financially towards those combs or towards the transportation costs of the kits.

Rotarians - Let's meet and connect at Annual Conference!

The St. Charles Rotary meets on Thursdays at 12:10 pm at The Office Dining and Spirits, 201 E Main St. 2nd floor in St. Charles.

This is the home club of our very own Rev. Al Patten. They are planning a special presentation on a local history museum,"the St. Charles Heritage Center." They will also have an announcement on the various humanitarian involvements over the last couple of years because of our coming.

This may be a great way to start a conversation on how your experience as a Pastor or Deacon has intersected with your involvement in Rotary.

Please R.S.V.P. by calling Rev. Karl Sokol, 708-680-6749, umchurch@gmail.com
