The need for clean up in Marseilles, IL continues! Declared a disaster county by FEMA, about 30 homes remain looking for assistance in clean up. Local resources are limited so unless you can be completely self sufficient, a day trip should be planned. That means even if you only have 1 day to give, you can help!
The Southern Baptists are working on assessment and clean up. They will direct your work. Because of the nature of the work, you are welcome to include non-ERTs as long as they are able to do physical work.
Midwest Mission Distribution Center/UMCOR clean-up buckets are available if your church or community needs them. Please call Rev. Christina Vosteen at 630-355-9416 or e-mail her at pastorcls@aol.com.

Kit Challenge Met!
As of this week, the total needs for the Kit Assembly at Annual Conference have been met! Your pledges will help us assemble over 1000 kits at Annual Conference this year. If you would still like to participate, any remaining items beyond the assembled kits will be given to the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham.
Two additional items, fingernail clippers and wide-toothed combs, are being bought in bulk. If your congregation would like to contribute towards those, you can make a check to the Northern Illinois Conference and bring it to Annual Conference. Put "Kit Challenge 2013" in the memo line.
Any funds received above the amounts needed will be split evenly between the Midwest Mission Distribution Center and Church World Service to help in the transportation costs of Hygiene Kits.
