Bishop's Appeal Special Offering

The new Annual Conference Bishop's Appeal Offering was introduced at the special session. This year's collective offering is designated to the Harvest 2020 campaign.


Creative Ministries Grants

The Northern Illinois Conference Program Council is accepting applications for Creative Ministries Grants to help fund new ministry projects in 2013. 

The application forms are available on the NIC website, www.umcnic.org under "Resources" and "Grants" or by
clicking here. All applications must be submitted on or before May 1, 2013. For more information contact: Rev. Christopher Pierson at cpierson@umcnic.org or 847-931-0710 ext. 15.

 

SBC21 Training for Clergy and Laity

The Northern Illinois Conference (NIC) and Strengthening the Black Church in the 21st Century (SBC 21) are joining ranks to bring experts from around the country for empowered learning, interaction, praise and celebration to reach new generations. Come to learn practical ideas for ministry, be refreshed & energized through spirit-filled worship, and leave with tools for effective and innovative ministry.

The ministries of Lay Servants throughout the Northern Illinois Conference will be celebrated at a conference-wide event at Sycamore UMC, 160 Johnson St., on April 27 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Worship and communion led by Bishop Sally Dyck.

Up to 90 percent of deaths from malaria are women and children under five. Imagine No Malaria, a ministry of The United Methodist Church, is launching a Mother's Day campaign so that mothers in Africa will be able to fight malaria and nurture their children into thriving adults.

Bishop's Interfaith Bus Tour
More than 90 youth and 40 adults participated in the Bishop's Interfaith bus tour last Saturday, Mar. 23. They loaded three buses to visit several different houses of worship including; the Hindu BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bartlett, Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago Mandir in Bartlett, Masjid Al-Huda in Schaumburg, and the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago in Palatine. The adults visited Congregation Beth Shalom in Naperville on Friday evening.

Services will be held throughout Holy Week in several churches in the Chicago Southern District.
