Illinois Veto Session

Veto Session UPDATE

The Illinois Senate voted on Tuesday (41-14-1) to approve Highway Safety legislation that will allow anyone, including those without social security numbers, to obtain a driver's license and insurance.

This legislation may come before the House on Thursday, today.  According to bi-partisan supporters, including both the House majority and minority leaders, county sheriffs, and editorial boards of the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Chicago Sun Times, and Daily Chronicle, this bill would make Illinois roads safer for all Illinois residents.

You are urged to call your state representative about this bill, HB6228.
