Small Business Improvement Fund Returns to Kinzie

Good news for property owners in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor TIF District: the Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) has once again been enacted in our area! This popular grant program provides matching contributions of up to $150K for capital improvements to industrial properties. SBIF-eligible expenses include interior buildouts, roof and window work, masonry, HVAC, environmental remediation, and more. Applications will open for a limited period beginning with a kickoff event to be announced, so start thinking about projects and watch your inbox for upcoming messages about SBIF.

For more information about how to take advantage of SBIF, email Ben at ICNC or call (312) 421-3941.

Commercial Burglaries in 012th District

Businesses on the 2400 and 2500 blocks of West Fulton and Lake Streets have unfortunately seen a number of break-ins in recent weeks. Please bear in mind that communication is the best weapon we have to fight crimes of this type:

Please also use ICNC as your resource: email Ben with information to be shared with the Member community. Stay safe!

A Reminder About Lot Weeds and Vegetation

A friendly reminder to property owners: the Department of Streets and Sanitation has the right to issue tickets of $600 per offense for growth of weeds in excess of ten inches on occupied or unoccupied lots. The city broadly defines weeds as plants "unwanted or out of place". These tickets may be issued without warning or redress if the vegetation is trimmed after the fact, so spare your wallet and take care of it today!
