SPUDS, SALADS & SMILES
|
Dallas Morning News metropolitan columnist Jacquelynn Floyd will be the guest speaker for our February 12th Spuds luncheon.
Most of you may remember Jack (as she likes to be called) from previous programs. Jack began working as a daily journalist in 1980 when she launched her career as an obituary clerk for the Austin, Texas American-Statesman. The sixth-generation Texan attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia but says she "hastened back to Texas as quickly as possible."
Since becoming a columnist in 1999, Floyd has been named the best in the state by the Texas Press Managing Editors, the Headliners Foundation, and the Press Club of Dallas. Jack is very entertaining so bring a friend and join us Wednesday Feb.12, 11:30 a.m. in Prichard Hall.

CREATIVE ARTS CORNER
|
Have you made a New Year's Resolution to try a new hobby; knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, maybe painting? Each Friday from 10:00 a.m. - noon, a group of hobbyists meet in Prichard Hall for a quiet, creative morning. A participant recently thanked Senior Ministry for providing her "with such a creative, relaxing and fun fellowship Friday". Come join us for a time away from phones, doorbells and computers. If you are interested, please call Pat Covert, 972-931-0566.

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS
| |
A new opportunity to serve BTPC in 2014!
Please prayerfully consider being a nursery volunteer attendant. We need BTPC family members and friends (age 16 and above) to join Sandy Scharett and help in the nursery. You will get to share your time, talents, and love for the Lord with the youngest children of our congregation. Smiles and heartwarming experiences are guaranteed! You may sign up for 90 minute shifts 8:45-10:15 or 10:15-11:45, or for a whole morning, if that works better for you. Background checks and a short training session are required for each volunteer. Contact Blake Stephens or CE Elders, Lissa Dallas or Mary Updegraff, for more information. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm with the children of BTPC.
