An AMERICAN TRUTH

Our U.S. High Holy Day is July 4th. This holiday affords each of us the opportunity to answer these questions, "As an American, what's my contribution and my legacy?"

The Statue of Liberty is a true American Goddess figure lifting high the torch of Liberty as freedom's promise for those coming to the U.S. seeking a better life.

Lady Liberty holds in her left hand a tablet, the Declaration of Independence, and in her right hand the liberty torch. France gave us this iconic statue as a gift, and American school children's raised funds to pay for the pedestal it stands on.

The unfolding realization of America's Dream depends on the conscious actions of each of us to help widen the circle of opportunity for others. America's Dream can only be fully realized when there is true equal opportunity for all citizens, and we each contribute to making it so.

YOGA with Yoga Master, Dana Karpain. Try this gentle, meditative Yoga for the Peaceful Self Sunday May 25th Cost is $15 per class or $44 for a series of 4 (or contribute what you can). Dana will be available all afternoon to provide short sessions on quick, gentle stretches to use at home or office.

Some meteorologists have predicted an El Nino weather phenomenon this July. Many say, "That's impossible; it's never happened." Looking at the weather across the country, we see extreme weather that has never happened before.

 

Prayers can help make it happen. For example: "I am happy and grateful now that we are experiencing regular downpours of rain with highest good for all."

 

 

 

Light Heart Youth Program

Join Rev. Geri Woodson each Sunday for the Light Heart Youth Program. Young people will enjoy multi-cultural stories, prayers, meditations, and crafts. They will learn that LOVE is the guiding force in their lives. All youngsters ages 4-11 years of age are welcome from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
