It would be nice if we could live our lives and never make any mistakes, but unfortunately that is not the way it usually works. According to Jesus, we are not punished for our mistakes but by them. When we cease making the mistakes, the punishment also ceases. Jesus knew the frailties of the human mind. He taught that there is no sin but a mistake and no punishment but a consequence.

We are in the human experience and we can expect to make mistakes along the way. The best we can do is learn from them and be compassionate with ourselves and others. Life is a blessing or a curse, according to the use we make of it. In the long run, no one judges us but ourselves and no one condemns us but ourselves. God neither punishes nor rewards. If we make mistakes, we suffer. What more can life ask of us than that we do the best that we can and try to improve? If we have done this, we have done well.

Forgiveness becomes very important because our inability to forgive ourselves or others blocks the flow of good into our lives. We now know that before the original flow of life can be restored, any sense of guilt obstructing this flow must be removed. Nothing in the universe holds anything against us. Nothing vindictive can flow from the Spirit. So, once again, the responsibility is ours. It is for us to forgive. That is our freedom. That is our charge. I use an ancient Hawaiian prayer of reconciliation and forgiveness called Ho'oponopono. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you." I say that whenever I'm thinking thoughts that would take me into separation...judging myself or others harshly......I say it when I want to heal some aspect of my body which is hurting.....I say it when I look into the mirror......"I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you." When you can love yourself completely, you now have the capacity to love another as they deserve to be loved.

Our Beautiful Symphony of Life Choir Debut

I am so grateful that a wonderful choir director, Sabastien Montgomerie, has stepped forward to lead us in the jubilation of song. Check out the picture below. We are just getting started and we already have twelve songbirds! It was a wonderful experience for me personally to see something that I have wished for and prayed for come to fruition. Of course God is good!!!

Symphony of Life Book Club

Our Symphony of Life Book Club meeting will be held tonight, Friday, June 14, at 7:00 p.m. We will be discussing our current book and choosing a book for July. You are welcome to join in at any time.
