Friendship Month During the month of May, we are celebrating friendship at the Symphony of Life Spiritual Center! We invite you to show up on Sunday and bring a friend, or friends! This is the month we've particularly set aside to invite our friends and family to join us for our Sunday services. Think of someone you would like to bring to our Sunday service and extend the invitation. We want to spread our joy and happiness. Volunteer Appreciation Month In addition to celebrating our friends, we will also be featuring and appreciating the various volunteer teams we have in our spiritual community. It will be an opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have served. The Symphony of Life Youth Adventures Program We are so pleased that new energy and vitality has been put into re-establishing our Youth Adventures Program! A ministerial student who has implemented and facilitated a thriving youth program elsewhere has offered to assist us in the growth and development of our own youth program. She has some great ideas which we are excited to implement at the Symphony of Life. What we clearly need, though, to begin are two or three individuals who enjoy children who are willing to serve one Sunday a month as a facilitator in the program. You will be given an assistant to work with and everything else will be provided including curriculum. Please contact Rev. New Class - Five Gifts of Prosperity The Symphony of Life is presenting a new class, 5 Gifts of Prosperity, which will begin on May 9 for eight Thursdays, from 7 - 9:30 pm. This class will increase your prosperity conscious. It will be taught by Rev. Marilyn Miller, Career Coach and Prosperity Teacher. Mother's Day Brunch After service on Sunday, May 12, at 12:30 pm, the Symphony of Life will be having a Mother's Day Brunch at Eggs & Potatoes Restaurant here in Ojai. We will be ordering separately from the menu. Please plan on joining us as we celebrate mothers everywhere!  Symphony of Life Book Club Our next Symphony of Life Book Club meeting will be held on Friday, June 14, at 7:00 p.m. We will be discussing our current book selection, A Fine Balance, by Rohinton Mistry, and choosing a new book for the month of July. You are welcome to join in at any time. If you like to read and are interested in having a stimulating conversation about the books you read, you'll enjoy this group. Dessert is served during the meeting. Contact Peggie Williamson, (805) 640-2450 for more information. Symphony of Life First Annual Spring Dance and Talent Show Save the date! On Saturday night, May 18, 7:30 to 11:00 PM, the Symphony of Life is having its First Annual Spring Dance and Talent Show complete with live music (a great band), a drawing, refreshments, lots of fun, joy and creativity! Get down with SOuL! It will be held at the Ojai Woman's Center, 441 E. Ojai Avenue. Admission is $15. Regarding our Talent Show, this is your opportunity to show us what you've got! Tessie Goddard has been designated as our Talent Scout. You will need to contact Tessie at (805) 640-0652 if you would like to be considered for the Talent Show. This event is a fund-raiser for the Symphony of Life, so please invite your friends. Everyone is welcome!
