Love is the Great Equalizer. To see the soul of another is an amazing gift. To look into someone's eyes and see the perfection there is a sacred experience. That is transcendent love. It's not the conditional love we are so used to experiencing in this human realm. It is the realization that I am you and you are me. Something great has transpired between us, a liberation of consciousness that allows me to see how completely interconnected we all are. That I can experience this in myself is the beginning of the healing of the planet. 

Once I can truly see you and understand you from the place of our similarities, my compassion grows. I can forgive you and ask for your forgiveness. Until all this happens, we are living on the very surface of life. We are not diving in deep. We are skirting the edge of infinite possibility.

Conditional relationships are not easy. They require lots of intense navigation and manipulation. "I will be happy if you just change and do what I say." My happiness becomes dependent upon your cooperation with me. What would it feel like for me to be responsible for my own happiness? Once I recognize and begin to truly love my Self (not from the ego's perspective), I am set free and I can set you free.

We are here to discover the beautiful radiant love and light that is within all of us. It is the Christ Presence, Love Itself. It is the road to true freedom and liberation. It is there awaiting your recognition of it. As a gift to yourself during this month devoted to love, I welcome you to come home to the Self! Happy Valentine's Day!

Silent Meditation Retreat 

Randee Vasilakos, our Symphony of Life practitioner, will be facilitating a Silent Meditation Retreat at Meditation Mount on Saturday, February 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be an introduction and readings by Rev. Karen Wylie and walks in nature. Bring your lunch (also in the silence). This is a wonderful opportunity to spend some quiet time in the stillness with the Self. Cost: $30. Symphony of Life Book Club 

Our book club selection for the month of January has been Pudd'head Wilson by Mark Twain. Our next meeting of the book club is Friday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m., at which time we will select our book for February.  If you love to read, you will enjoy reading and discussing books with our current book club members. Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey

Join Rev. Karen on an amazing Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey from the holy city of Rome, Italy to Istanbul, Turkey, cities filled with architectural wonders and monuments to the faiths that inspired them. There will be morning and evening meditations, led by Rev. Karen throughout the voyage. As we go back in time, we will take our own personal inward journey in discovery of the mystical in us.
