This is the month when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. The great one who was Jesus knew that the creative Source of the universe is in the words I am that I am. He knew God as the Source of all good and further that the Spirit of God is within each and every one of us. Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do....." (John 14:12)
I've come into a new and deeper awareness of just how powerful I am....how powerful we all are as Divine Creative Beings of Light. Most of us do not use that power however. We give it away, not knowing that in the realization of that power, miracles become an every day occurrence. Rather than praying to a God outside myself who is going to answer my prayers, I realize that the power for answered prayer lies within me. I am the prayer and I am the answer.
How can we claim that much power? Perhaps it is easier for us when we realize that God is Love. We are Love. Further, this Source I know is delighted by the deepening of the awareness of the Spirit within. I and my Father/Mother God are one; it is a holy sacred union as is all of life.
Do not think it blasphemy to love God that much, to become Love Itself, to become that powerful. We are to rejoice in the celebration of the Christ Presence within! I am that I am!
Our affirmation for the day: Thank you Divine Source that I may love myself enough to see the sacred and holy in me!

Announcements
Our Annual Meeting and Holiday Pot Luck Party Thanks to all those who worked diligently putting together the facts and figures for our Annual Meeting and also to those folks like Robert MacNeal who worked hard at creating a wonderful holiday feast for all of us. Our gratitude also to Lisa Love and Valerie Freeman who facilitated our youth program. Please enjoy some pictures below of our time together last Sunday.  Symphony of Life Holiday Book Club Meeting The Symphony of Life has a wonderful, active book club. It meets once a month at the home of one of the members to discuss the current book selection and to share some dessert. The next meeting is Friday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Tiese and Bob Quinn, 701 Foothill Road here in Ojai. The meeting on December 14 is our annual holiday book exchange so please bring a wrapped book for the gift-giving portion of the meeting. The Symphony of Life Interfaith Candlelight Service The Symphony of Life will be hosting its annual Interfaith Candlelight Service again at Meditation Mount on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. All faiths are welcome! There will be fellowship and refreshments following the service. Come one, come all! We will share prayers and songs from different traditions. Let's celebrate these high holy days together! 
The Symphony of Life Choir We are just now putting together a choir which will be singing at the Interfaith Service on Christmas Eve at Meditation Mount. If you love to sing or have always wanted to sing, now is your opportunity. Contact Amira Webster at (805) 701-1327 if you would like to join the chorus. Everyone is welcome! Rehearsals are underway now.  Christmas Caroling The Symphony of Life is also going Christmas caroling during the evening on Sunday, December 23, 2012. All singers welcome! There is no audition.....you will not be turned down even if you think you can't hold a tune. We will begin the evening at 5:00 p.m. at The Gables of Ojai and will be going to another site thereafter yet to be determined. Put the date on your calendar! It is always so much fun to share songs, joy, love and laughter! 
October Tithe Our October tithe will go partly to the PanAmerican Institute Mexico to buy Christmas food baskets for needy families in their community and the remainder to Help of Ojai to assist in stocking their food pantry for Christmas giving to needy families here in Ojai. Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey June 27 - July 6, 2013 Join Rev. Karen on an amazing Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey from the holy city of Rome, Italy to Istanbul, Turkey, cities filled with architectural wonders and monuments to the faiths that inspired them. There will be morning and evening meditations, led by Rev. Karen throughout the voyage. As we go back in time, we will take our own personal inward journey in discovery of the mystical in us. THE SURPRISE HOLIDAY BASKET BRIGADE will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, 7:00 - 8:00 PM at Ojai First Baptist Church's Conference Room (Saturday's Ojai Valley Family Shelter), 930 Grand Avenue, Ojai, Ca 93023. Since there are only a few residents maximum and it's a small space, the participants for the event this year will be limited. The plan is for Ojai children to deliver the gifts personally (accompanied by their parent or parents). The hope is to have our local children feel the joy of giving. The organizers are already planning to deliver four items to each resident (a drawstring backpack, small tin of butter cookies, gloves, and a holiday character). They welcome any individual or family who wishes to make an additional donation toward an item on the wish list (socks, warm hats, toiletries, etc.).
