Greetings on this beautiful day! I just returned from four days in Yosemite, one of my favorite places on the planet, and I am still filled up with the beauty of nature that was all around me. How refreshing to be in the tall trees with the soaring cliffs, clean air and deep, blue skies. As we ate our lunch one afternoon, just outside our window was a mother deer washing her two baby fawns, completely unconcerned about the people gathered round to take a picture. It was a sight to behold. It pleases me that the animals there have grown to trust their environment. I have returned to Ojai invigorated and renewed!

During the month of November, we at the Symphony of Life are launching our Prosperity Campaign and Pledge Drive for 2013, and we are very excited about that. We have accomplished a lot, but there is so much more to do. In 2013, we are committed to expansion and the creation of a caring, connected, conscious community like never before! Please consider this an invitation to join us as an integral part of our community as collectively we awaken to the oneness of life, the joy of creation, and expansion into an even larger beacon of welcoming, healing light here in Ojai and in the world.

Your pledge gifts will provide the resources we need to continue our vision, the global heart vision of a world that works for everyone. Your gifts also enable us to expand the programs and services that will serve our spiritual home and the greater community of Ojai and beyond. In coming days, we will be sending out a pledge card along with a letter describing where we have come from (our accomplishments) and where we are going (our goals) for 2013. Workshop - November 4, 2012

This coming Sunday, November 4, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., the Symphony of Life is offering a workshop right after service entitled, "Messages from the Departed." Renowned author and clairvoyant Viki King, has a remarkable gift. If you wish to connect with a deceased loved one, Viki shows her down-to-earth manner as she imparts a significant message to every participant. Consultant to many films including "Conversations with God," Viki has appeared on CNN, ABC, CBS, PBS and the BBC. The cost of the workshop is $30 ($25 in advance). Contact Rev. Global Outreach

In addition to the monthly tithe we send to support students at the Panamerican Institute in Mexico, the Symphony of Life Spiritual Center has now adopted another school, Nyakato Elementary School, in Musoma, Tanzania, Africa. Nyakato has 1500 students and 120 to 150 children per class with 1 teacher. Many children sit on the floor due to overcrowding and a lack of desks. They have no books of any kind, no materials or supplies. Nyakato is the poorest ward of Musoma. They have no clean water, no sewage system and little electricity. Women cook on a few pieces of charcoal if they can afford it. People struggle to live on less than $2 a day. Our monthly tithe will go a long way to support and assist the school. We are grateful for this opportunity to make a difference.

Our local tithe recipient for the month of September is Casa de La Luna Retreat Center here in Ojai. Casa de La Luna is a non-profit, eco-holistic retreat and eco-spiritual community serving those who serve humanity and mother earth. On Sunday, November 4, at the Symphony of Life, Founder Margaret Elliott will be presented with a Certificate of Appreciation and a check in the amount of $553.56.

Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey

June 27 - July 6, 2013

Join Rev. Karen on an amazing Mystical Mediterranean Odyssey from the holy city of Rome, Italy to Istanbul, Turkey, cities filled with architectural wonders and monuments to the faiths that inspired them. There will be morning and evening meditations, led by Rev. Karen throughout the voyage. As we go back in time, we will take our own personal inward journey in discovery of the mystical in us.
