April ridership numbers for HART are in: April 2013 bus ridership of 1,257,728 is a 6 percent increase compared 1,182,531 in April 2012. Last month ranks as 4th all-time best month in HART history.
April 1st saw the greatest daily ridership throughout the month with 54,813 riders
choosing HART!
"This type of ridership gain is a continued testimony to the value that HART brings to Hillsborough County," explained HART COO Katharine Eagan. "As more people see the value that our team provides they're making the change to transit."
Fast facts:
- Year-to-date (October 2012 - April 2013), bus ridership is up 2.6 percent; an increase of 222,067 trips, compared to the same period last year
- Bus ridership for fiscal year 2013 is on its way to surpassing 14.2 million from last year. HART is on track for exceeding its annual target for ridership with approximately 14.5 million riders this year, which would be the 4th straight annual ridership record for HART
- Weekdays bus ridership continues a record steady level of growth by averaging a 2.9 percent increase
- Express route ridership continues a strong climb, with a year-to-date increase of 2.9 percent
