The numbers are in, and HART had another strong month for ridership in March, including another million-ride month for bus service. A total of 1,243,670 bus trips were taken last month.

The increase continues to be visible in our daily ridership after a record breaking 65,755 trips on February 5 - the most in HART history. Last month, March 1st saw the greatest ridership throughout the month with 56,716 riders choosing HART!
The top five average weekday ridership routes that have experienced consecutive bus ridership increases for more than four years,* showing that public transit use remains strong in all areas of Hillsborough County:
- Route 1 (Downtown to University Area Transit Center via Florida Avenue): 37.2 percent increase
- Route 6 (Downtown to University Area Transit Center via 56th Street): 29.6 percent increase
- Route 36 (South Tampa to Carrollwood via Dale Mabry Hwy./Himes Avenue): 46.7 percent increase
- Route 39 (Town 'N Country/Citrus Park to Netp@ark Transfer Center via Busch Boulevard): 36.9 percent increase
- Route 9 (Downtown to University Area Transit Center via 15th Street): 31.4 percent increase

In addition, use of HART's U-Pass service for University of South Florida students, faculty and staff has increased 10.62 percent year-to-date. The U-Pass program is a partnership with the university that allows students to ride any HART local bus for free with a valid student ID; faculty and staff ride for 25¢.
