Dear Women of Wisdom,
Holiday time is here - we wish you joy and peace in the year to come. If you are in the Seattle area, please join us for our holiday potluck dinner, Tuesday, December 11th. This is our annual gathering for committee and council that has now shifted to include our full community. We share songs, stories, and a Goddess gift exchange. Space is limited and it will fill up quickly, so register now!

We are launching our online Healers Temple - please read about it below. This is a new WOW endeavor to bring our healers and readers together so you can find trusted alternative practitioners of healing services such as medical intuitives, psychic readers, tarot, astrology, shamanic healers, etc. And so many people work online and by phone now that the Healers Temple will be available to all of our readers.
All healers and readers can apply to be in our directory on our new website, which will include a monthly Temple email, with a featured article. If this fits your service please go to womenofwisdom.org for more information.
We know it's been an interesting and intense time in 2012 and we're all preparing for changes in our world. We chose our theme - Women Leading the Evolutionary Shift - for a reason as we are all feeling this amazing shift in consciousness. And that also means it can be a trying time letting go of old patterns that have kept us back from becoming the new paradigm! And so we have us midwifing the new paradigm.

The planning committee has been working on the 2013 conference since Spring and things are really coming together. We're excited about what has been done so far and looking forward to the next few months of finishing details. Now we're working on the different areas and setting up who will be the coordinators. A few areas that we're still looking to fill are coordinators are:
Concessions, Housing, Marketing, Logistics & Signage, and Decorating. Many of these shared with another co-coordinator to lighten the work load and increase the enjoyment.
There are many ways to participate and we welcome the addition of new and returning sisters to share in this rewarding process.  INTRODUCING WOW'S HEALERS TEMPLE RESOURCE GUIDE Within Women of Wisdom there is a wealth of diverse spiritual energy healers and our members would love to know of their services and support our wise woman healers from WOW. A year ago, the WOW Council celebrated 20 years and created its vision for the next decade. As we engage in the midwifery of the Evolutionary Shift, we turn both inward and outward seeking to transform the personal, as well as the collective consciousness. One of our visions was to create an ongoing resource of our gifted women year round, such as the healers and readers in the conference Temple. With limited space at conference, this is a way we can expand and include people from all over within our community. So many people are utilizing the phones or the internet to do this work now, we can make this accessible to everyone. WOW announces the establishment of a permanent on-line HEALERS TEMPLE RESOURCE GUIDE. With the promotion of your services in the guide, a link to the WOW online HEALERS TEMPLE will take readers to your display on our pages. We desire to see the promotion and education about the various healing modalities, which include intuitive readers,energy and body workers. Seekers looking for healing will better understand what our community can provide and trust that those from our community have passed our process of referrals. Each month, one of our Healers will be featured in the once a month Healers Temple Resource Guide for a price of $125. Our email list reaches 5000 people. We will send out the guide on the 15th of the each month. Application for inclusion in the HEALERS TEMPLE requires a one-time application fee of $15 for WOW members, and $25 for non members. Once accepted, individuals can secure promotional space on a monthly basis, with discounts for quarterly, half-year, or full-year inclusion in the HEALERS TEMPLE RESOURCE GUIDE. There are 3 sizes available in addition to a classified listing to choose from. For the application and more information, go to womenofwisdom.org. Applications will be accepted anytime on an on-going basis. Deadline for the first edition will be Feb. 28th for our first launch of mid March.

ARIES - Trek further into new beginnings. Take stock of what is waning and gather the best qualities of what you have learned as you put it into new use. Stay rooted in practicality while you cooperate with kindred spirits and deepen what you know to be true. By adopting better habits and more inner discipline you can gain much. Keep your thoughts and words on a positive note. Conduct yourself outwardly with a sense of cheer and generosity. Be mindful not to lose focus. Limit distractions while build on what gives you passion. Remember that any impulsive confrontations with others over issues can make matters worse. Diplomacy is always a better strategy for you. Seek first to walk a mile in the other person's Nike's....
TAURUS - Conventional knowledge and degrees become less and less important as you seek new meaning and purpose to energize your life. You are also to pay particular attention to any health issues that are signalling to you. This is the time to make DEEP change. Surface cosmetics just will not do. Look within and respect whom you are via taking action given to you by your inner voice. Also understand that you can be in a position now to be more helpful to others. Seek ways you can help to inspire, educate, motivate, give of your time and even donate things that are no longer relevant or useful to the fabric of your life. It is important to look out at humanity and see what and where you may be needed. We are currently in times when the more hands on deck, the better!
GEMINI - When was the last time you sang out loud? Seriously, there is much to be gained by this for you are approaching a time when it is important to feel more love and joy. Do not sit on the fence any longer. Contemplate deeply, identifying habits that must be transformed. If you keep doing the same routine do not expect different results. Shift any tendencies to sit on the fence and put tasks off. If you are trying to keep old views and attitudes in place while yearning for change the time has come to shift all of it. Being stuck in neutral means your life and potential are being wasted. Look beyond the current situation and understand new dreams are calling. Figure out what you need to do, what you want and how to do it. Get on the motorbike!

Women's History you have never been taught

 Women's history is not taught in schools or universities, meaning each woman has to learn her history on her own or not at all. This Teleclass will discuss how women's history has been lost, some important facts like the Peking man is actually the Peking woman, and rewrite some of the women back into history that have made a difference in all of our lives. This course, hoped to be the first of many, will focus on how the history was lost, the importance of spirituality and healing for ancient women, as well as accomplishments of women in the arts. Suggestions and exercises will be designed to help participants re-find and re-store this history. The course facilitator will also give suggestions on resources of Women's History and creative ways to learn about women's history.
Kathleen M. Bishop, Ph.D. is a Gerontologist with a specialty in aging in people with disabilities, women, and environmental design. She has presented over 15 years on-line and over 30 years of traditional classroom teaching. Her passion is women's history, she presents frequently on topics related to women's history. She is also a published author of 'Whistling up the Wind" and is currently writing a book 'Reclaiming women's lives through diaries and letters.'

Celebrating Spirit in Community with Plants
