Dear Women of Wisdom,
Summer's come and gone, now the rain! For our members who are on the east coast, we hope you are safe and your homes survived without damage.
We have completed our conference program! And very excited about who will be coming. You can download a pdf view of the calendar on our website to see the half day workshops.
I'm very pleased to announce we have just finished booking our featured guests:
Nicki Scully will join us with Normandi Ellis for a healing ritual ceremony Saturday evening, and also give a workshop. They are right now together on the Nile with a tour and are sending us their descriptions! They each want to share in both of their workshops, so that should be exciting Eqyptian lore! Nicki's new book is on Planetary Healing.
Also - hot off the press, we'll be having Cyndi Dale, internationally renowned author and energy healer, author of The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy and New Chakra Healing and many other books.
If you'd like to receive a hardcopy brochure, please send your mailing address to wow@womenofwisdom.org by Nov. 7th. Now you may be wondering "I thought Kris retired from directing the conference". Yes I have, I'm in a consultant role as we go through this transition, so I'm helping out getting the major speakers, and will mentor the marketing/media team. It's fun to be in this new role, and I have to watch myself as it's so easy to get back into the "doing" role rather than mentoring. And many people are in place, including Kelly O'Dell, master conference coordinator, to manage the day to day of conference business.
Coming up is our November Community Connection on November 17th with Ragini Elizabeth Michaels, Mosa Baczewska and Heather Taylor-Zimmerman. The theme is The Art of Sacred Living. We've been having great turn outs so be sure to register soon!
In case you notice there's not a dance announcement - we've had to cancel as people haven't been coming to dance lately - maybe 'cause we had such beautiful warm fall days and nights. So if you want to dance, you need to contact us about revitalizing this wonderful evening in 2013. We can't do it without bodies!
There are some new programs that will be launched at conference. Stay tuned for some exciting news!
Very soon we will be announcing the launch of an online Temple, just as we have healers and readers at our conference! We will send a special e-newsletter announcement about how you can apply to participate in this resource. If you are in the healing profession, it'll be an opportunity for you to be visible to our members, and they will be able to find trusted Women of Wisdom practitioners of holistic health modalities, including intuitive readers of tarot, astrology, and other modalities available in our region. And many people work online now or by phone so the Temple will be available to all of our readers.
That is just the first stage of Women of Wisdom developing new resources for you. We're excited about our direction and hope you will be too.
We had a great community dinner on October 23rd, great conversations of what our best summer memories were, and viewed the film about Meinrad Craighead's life as an artist. Very inspiring.
You can join us for our holiday potluck dinner December 11th. Mark your calendars as this one fills up quickly. Everyone's brings their favorite food that they make with love.

3:00 - 5:00 p  m Aligning to the Source with Heather Taylor-Zimmerman
Sacred geometry provides the structure of creation, within ourselves and the world around us. It is a system of relation, a bridge connecting the microcosm within and the macrocosm without, the quantum and the astrophysical levels of being. Human traditions have drawn upon geometry to align themselves to focus their consciousness through art, whether it was Carl Jung and the mandala of consciousness, a Tibetan sand mandala or a Hindu yantra. We will learn to understand and draw upon this system of alignment to create a more purposefully patterned life through visualization and self-exploration.
Heather Taylor-Zimmerman is an artist who works with sacred geometry and symbolism to express universal truths through human transformation and creation. Her art focuses upon concepts of alignment that center the viewer and expose them to mediated experiences.

Internationally renowned energy healer and best selling author, Cyndi Dale, will be at WOW. She will give a Friday, Feb. 15th eventing presentation and a Saturday, Feb 16 workshop.

ARIES --Use the simple approach combined with a bit of daredevil to find the best solution to difficulties. Give ample room for last minute shifts in plans and preparation. Seek to make more of your ideas known to a wider group of associates. Do not overstate your case but practice restraint and moderation. Watch events in the media carefully for the purpose of gauging which way the winds are blowing. The year ahead will call for many adjustments on both a personal and collective level. Look going to the dentist-it best be done. Take some time for play for this will help you ease built-up stress and thus improve your focus.
TAURUS -Don't wait too long, putting up with the status quo when bigger opportunities may lie just over the next hill. Ships come in when supported by both vision and action. While there is wisdom in stillness and no harm being done, what is really being achieved? Situations in your life tend to be either harmonious to your well being or not. Deepen discernment and recognize the fact that you have one of the best intuitive voices in the zodiac. Let new growth happen via creating the space that can both embrace it and support it. Think about both long term and short -term goals outlining a more methodical and grounded process.
GEMINI -Bridge the optimism and delight you feel with more constructive thought and action. There can be deeper and broader linking between what you do, places you do it in and the people you can touch. Make the effort to contact a deeper kind of wisdom within you and pay heed to the messages that emerge. Using the tools you have acquired to extract deeper meanings of life can yield you good results. Stop distractions and endless busy quests for more information. You have all you need. Use it. Give up the old outworn methods simply hung onto because it is the way you have been doing things. Branch out and try some new ideas. Test the water-you will find it fine!
CANCER -Lift your eyes above the ordinary; transcend any problems by striving to see the bigger picture! Nurture inspiration, zest and your capacity to embrace a deeper wisdom as well as new points of view. Use your ability to foster and nurture to promote your own growth and security. Sometimes you are overloaded due to too many people or situations to consider. Relax, ask for new perspectives and make your questions a little deeper. The questions you ask yourself should focus on what you really need to be happy. Listen deeply to your feelings. The Wisdom in Our Hearts

I can feel the truth of why I can't have certain things when I want it, be it love of a man or material positions. I have this knowing that it's not him, that "he's not the one" or that it's not time.
But the childlike mind wins with "I want it anyways!"
I go after it, receive and I learn the hard way.
The biggest lesson I learned is that no- thing, nor no person will bring me (long lasting) happiness. Especially, prematurely.
How many times have you been there? Where you could look back and saysomething told me he or it ain't right. But we proceed without caution. I believe we will always posses all three: the women, the girl and the child/baby. (the man, the boy & the...) Our intuition can only go as far as we listen to it. But if we only listen to the women, the girl or the...it will either guide us to greater discovery or destruction.
Our heart is the greatest gift of all; it carries far more wisdom than our feelings that could either grow beautifully, die softly and/or make us suffer hard. But we want what we want when we want it!
And with all of me I say: sit down!
(God/Universe may have something for you or someone greater...)
Grow an understanding between your heart, mind & feelings about your innermost desires. This is essential to create harmony within & to uncover your TRUE desires with long lasting fulfillment!
Whether it be:
~ Your career
~ Your relationships
~ Your loneliness
Now of these three:
~ Your Heart
~ Your Mind
~ Your Soul
Bring them into a meeting and have a full discussion. Weird, right? But dammit, if you've been hitting a wall, you're not listening to your inner voice. It's time to sit down and figure YOU out!
Within you it's in fact "figured out"- I know I am contradicting myself....but...
Deep down...
You know, like, you know that, you know more than you know. It's in you, real deep.
To begin to uncover this knowing, the wisdom in your heart...
Start with putting your hand on your heart and say, "I'm going to listen to you more" or just sit with your hand on your heart and quietly reflect.
Let no man, no woman....not society, not your circumstances tell you what's possible, what you are meant to do, what you are capable of or what's going to make YOU happy.
Only you know...to the extent you are willing to listen, learn and love.

Women's History you have never been taught

 Women's history is not taught in schools or universities, meaning each woman has to learn her history on her own or not at all. This Teleclass will discuss how women's history has been lost, some important facts like the Peking man is actually the Peking woman, and rewrite some of the women back into history that have made a difference in all of our lives. This course, hoped to be the first of many, will focus on how the history was lost, the importance of spirituality and healing for ancient women, as well as accomplishments of women in the arts. Suggestions and exercises will be designed to help participants re-find and re-store this history. The course facilitator will also give suggestions on resources of Women's History and creative ways to learn about women's history.
Kathleen M. Bishop, Ph.D. is a Gerontologist with a specialty in aging in people with disabilities, women, and environmental design. She has presented over 15 years on-line and over 30 years of traditional classroom teaching. Her passion is women's history, she presents frequently on topics related to women's history. She is also a published author of 'Whistling up the Wind" and is currently writing a book 'Reclaiming women's lives through diaries and letters.'
