Seven Providence Catholic Student-Athletes make College Commitments

(New Lenox) - Dr. John Harper, Principal of Providence Catholic High School, is pleased to announce that Rachel Alles, Emily Boggetto, Katie Compagno, Jessica Cothern, Jackson Dvorak, Kendal Judge and Christina MacNab will continue their respective sports at the collegiate level.  "We are extremely proud of these young men and women for their leadership and hard work and wish them success in college and in the future," said Harper.
 
Rachel Alles, daughter of Mark and Jill Alles of Tinley Park, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the Wingate University where she will continue her volleyball career on an athletic scholarship. She plans to major in Biology.  Alles is a graduate of Cardinal Joseph Bernadin Catholic School and a parishioner at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr.  The honor roll student is a member of the National Honor Society, Habitat for Humanity and is a Sacristan.  Alles has been a member of the Celtic volleyball team for her entire high school career and was named All-Conference her junior and senior years. 
 
Emily Boggetto, daughter of Brad and Michelle Boggetto of Joliet, committed to continue her volleyball career at the Southeast Missouri State University. Boggetto is a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle and a parishioner of its church.  The honor roll student is a member of the National Honor Society.  She was also a member of the Celtic volleyball team for her entire high school career and was named All-Conference and Oak Lawn All-Tournament team.
 
Katie Compagno, daughter of Mike and Kathleen Compagno of Orland Park, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the Caldwell University where she will continue her volleyball career on an athletic and academic scholarship. She plans to major in Occupational Therapy. Compagno is a graduate of St. Michael's School and a parishioner at its church.  The honor roll student is a member of Habitat for Humanity. Compagno has been a member of the Celtic volleyball team for her entire high school career and won the Hardest Worker team award.
 
Jessica Cothern, daughter of Dan and Dawn Cothern of Plainfield, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend DePaul University where she will continue her softball career on an athletic scholarship. She plans to major in Science Health. Cothern is a graduate of Timber Ridge Middle School and a parishioner St. Mary Immaculate Church.  The honor roll student is a member of the National Honor Society, Habitat for Humanity and is a student ambassador.  Cothern has been a member of the varsity Celtic softball team for her entire high school career and named All-Conference ('13, '14, '15), All-State ('14, '15) and Herald News ('14, '15) and Southtown  ('14) All-Area.  Furthermore, she holds the school's record with a .488 batting average in a single season.
 
Jackson Dvorak, son of Jack and Sue Dvorak, signed his National Letter of Intent to attend the Chicago State University where he will continue his baseball career on an athletic and academic scholarship.  Dvorak is a graduate of Martino Junior High School and a parishioner at St. Jude (New Lenox).  The honor roll student is a member of the Student Council.  Furthermore, Dvorak has been a member of the varsity baseball and football teams for his entire high school career.  He was a member of both the football and baseball state championship teams in 2014 and 2015 respectively. He was also named WJOL MVP and All-Area Honorable Mention for baseball in 2015.
 
Kendal Judge, daughter of Bill and Debbie Judge of Plainfield, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Minnesota where she will continue her softball career on an athletic scholarship. Judge is a graduate of Holy Family and a parishioner at its church.  The honor roll student has been a member of the varsity Celtic softball team for her entire high school career.  She was named All-Catholic League ('13, '14, '15), All-Area ('14, '15), All-State ('14), Chicago Suntimes Top 100 Players in Illinois and Team MVP ('14).
 
Christina MacNab, daughter of Robert and Sharon MacNab of Homer Glen, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Iowa where she will continue her track and field career on an athletic scholarship. She plans to major in Nursing. MacNab is a graduate of Homer Junior High School and a parishioner at St. Bernard's Church.  The honor roll student is the President of the National Honor Society, a Sacristan and a member of the school's Student Council, Habitat for Humanity, Augustinian Youth Ministry and International Club.  She received academic awards for AP Government and Spanish 3.  Furthermore, MacNab has been a member of the track and field team as a high jumper for her entire high school career.  She has been named Team MVP twice, holds the school's high jump record and placed 2nd at state last season.
