We are "pumped" after spending the last week at the PPAI show in Las Vegas. We had the opportunity to spend time with 35 of our Team members who made the trip and we spent a lot of time listening and learning to their successes and dreams and goals. What an exciting 3 days. We observed more energy, more sharing and more opportunity than ever before. I personally feel the supplier's have "stepped" up their game too with more "retail" looking products and more impressive decorating methods than ever before as well. In this issue, it just so happened that Kristan Dougherty, one of our newest Proforma Albrecht account executives, has built a new brand based on the Tri Mark decorating capabilities. Check out her story.

 

You know the mantra, when I go to an event of this nature, I want to "walk away" with three impressions:

 

1)      What did I learn?

2)      Who did I meet?

3)      What do I do next?

GET CHARGED!

 

Out with the old and in with the new. We have "retired" our "Get Charged" button. So what's new?? Our "Rock Ola" Juke Box will house the favorite songs for our reps and for our team members at the office. When you send in a $5,000.00 or greater order, we will either play your "walk up" song or one of our employee's favorites to "celebrate" the moment. So send your account executive your "walk up" tune, we will be loading it up over the next few weeks and we will "Rock Out" every time you send in a game changing order!

 

Here we grow in 2015!

 

Jo Puckett - Jo is becoming a "regular" on the Get Charged list. Check out her large order for her power company client, 10,000 of the 44425 Mood Mart Wallets from one of my all time favorite suppliers ASI 30270 AAKRON RULE! Way to go Jo, the order totals just under $10,000.00. As long as the customer was in the "mood" to spend, Jo suggested 50,000 of the 20550 "Mood Pencils" also from Aakron Rule, totaling over $11,000.00. Whenever my kids ask for some new "toy", I would always tell them we will have to sell "more pencils"  before we could consider it. Thanks Jo, now I have to make good on my promises as we "just sold more pencils." 


 

Jo backed that order up with an order for ASI 61943 Howard Miller,with 613-180 Howard Miller Clocks to celebrate the "Spirit of Safety. The order totals over $9200.00, that's why I know it is "TIME" to celebrate another awesome order from Jo! 


Young Steven Sheeks, our superstar son of Jeff Sheeks in Akron Ohio has started the new year off right with an order of PC55 T-Shirts from San Mar, decorated by their favorite decorator "Talk of the Town" in Akron Ohio. The shirts are being used by one of the largest "utilities" markers in the state. We can tell by the color "safety orange" that they are being used to protect their workers from harm on the job. Great order totaling $8,100.00.

Jan Davies, our marketing genius from the great state of California, had a breakthrough order for 107 of the 9901 and 9902 Matrix Jackets from ASI 66238 Landway decorated by "All My Best" in Rockland, CA. The order totals over $5500.00. So I was curious who purchased these jackets and looked up the client on the "innerweb" :-) 

 

  I have no idea what a "petabyte" could possibly be, but apparently it is a "lot" of storage. This client provides "large data" storage solutions for apparently "large" clients. Way to go Jan, we now know what a "petabyte" of an opportunity you have with this client.

How a Love of Horses and Unique Apparel Sparked a Successful Retail Adventure

Kristin Dougherty doesn't just sell custom apparel to her customers, she is the customer. She has successfully designed a line of clothing that she sells retail both online and at horse shows in the Colorado area. In the spring of 2014, Kristin launched "Equipparel.com" as the place to go for creative and customized apparel and accessories for horses, riders and equine aficionados. Not only does she offer beautifully designed apparel with her own brand, but also offers to add the buyers name, logo, horse name, team or event to the clothing.

Equipparel offers shirts, jackets, pants, blankets and bags. Equipparel is the combination of Kristin's passions and business acumen. With over 20 years of success as a creative marketing executive and a life long love for all things equestrian, Equipparel carries Kristin's energy and beauty over to quality and customized clothing, jewelry, accessories and equipment at affordable prices.


Kristen has partnered with Trimark Powered by Leed's for most of her apparel.

"I've mostly used the Trimark products because of their unique decoration techniques, and quality of the athletic apparel.  From the beginning I combined the techniques on single garments because no one else in my space has anything comparable. (And frankly my logo looks really good in the laser treatment!) I think I was mixed media, before mixed media was cool....


I've attached pictures of Equipparel's design on the First Knit Jacket.  It has become our "signature jacket" because everyone loves it and it's the item most people buy "first". You will see two of these we locally added names for personalization and a barn name here when the clients purchased them.


The artwork not only makes the wearables unique but it also makes it difficult for clients to find competitors online or price shop.  

Despite many of the "growing pains" I've experienced with Trimark, I'm really enjoying learning and using their products.  At the moment, I've reached out to Corey to see if there is a rep in our area to see more of the line-or if I need to order spec samples to test quickly for Equipparel's spring designs.

The spec sample program has been so helpful. It allows me to use the decorated items for testing and make sure the quality and features will hold up to our sport and frequent washing---without me risking a ton of capital if they don't.  Then I can add it to the line if it "passes."  The product pictures are on the website www.equipparel.com, we use social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) quite a bit to promote the products and events. Traveling to horse shows is ideal because the quality and look comes through best in person."
