Coach's Corner

by Fred Albrecht

Suzie and I are proud to announce that Proforma Albrecht was recently recognized as one of the Top 50 Distributors in the industry by Promo Marketing Magazine. We officially made the list for the first time in our short history landing at #44. Now that we are on the list, we know we can all work together to continue to climb our way to the top. We know that your success is the reason we continue to earn accolades and industry recognition. We are both very proud to be your partner in business and friends.

Proforma as a whole continues to be listed as the Top distributor making our company among the most powerful owners in the industry. What a great combination, together we have all of the tools and support you all need to compete with the biggest competitors and we are nimble and flexible enough to compete with the smallest as well.

Monday is Memorial Day a time for all of us to reflect upon the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom. Freedom is not a "God Given Right", it is something we all have to fight for every day and respect. We are fortunate to live in a country based on our ability to achieve whatever success we desire with the freedom of choice to be what we want to be. We are all very fortunate to also be in an industry where opportunity exists on every corner.

It is often said, if you do what you love for a living the money will follow. I truly believe we are all lucky to be  living our "Dream", I hear your passion every day through emails I receive, success stories, challenges and phone calls.

Dream Big, Plan and Execute even Bigger,

Happy Memorial Day,

Fred & Suzie

PS: We will be closed Monday for Memorial Day and back on Tuesday ready to help you achieve your biggest dreams.

Chris Bowles Uses Thank You Website to snag a $15,000.00 order and gain a new account.

Check out his story below. It all started with a lead from a "friendly supplier" who passed on an end user lead to him and then lead a potential buyer to our "Thank You" site and created the opportunity for this awesome sale.

So here's the story.

Last Fall I received an umbrella lead from a MVPLP Supplier for Celebrity Cruises. Their Chicago market team manager was looking for umbrellas to give at an event they were sponsoring. In the end unfortunately we had to leave the Vitronic line to meet her requirements but we took care of her and she bought 500 umbrellas for about $4000.

I kept in touch with her through the winter, sending some virtuals and random samples but no business. Three weeks ago she contacted me about an executive women's day they were sponsoring and needed gifts. They needed a flash drive and a "cool bag of some kind". Of course no further direction, no budget, no quantity, just find me something cool to give executive ladies. No problem, I got this, I do this every day. In that same email she introduced me to the new marketing manager for the Chicago market. SCORE! To say thanks, I sent Rebecca the Albrecht "Thank You" link and invited her to pick a gift to say thanks for the referral.

When Rebecca was looking at the options she saw the Cutter & Buck wine valet from Leed's (9850-20) and loved it for her event. She ended up ordering 250 pieces, 125 for her event and 125 to keep on hand for the future. The wine valets along with the flash drives totaled about $15,000 in net sales at 40% margin. As it turns out, this day is part of the PGA Champions Tour Encompass Championship, June 16-22. http://www.encompasschampionship.com/executive-womens-day/  With that out of the way Rebecca turned her attention to another sponsorship they have in place and we are working on that right now.

The exciting part is that Rebecca is one of 10 team managers across the country. Rebecca is very happy with our work and is sharing it with her counterparts along with our information. I'm working on getting contact information for the other nine managers. No luck yet but it will happen, bank on it.

So that simple thank you site gave the customer an idea that resulted in a great sale and other new opportunities. On top of that, the wine valets and flash drives will invoice during the Polyconcept incentive
period. Since you and Suzie are matching the rebate for CSR's this, sale will put about another $100 in Angele's pocket which is great because she deserves it.

So there it is, by cultivating great relationships with our vendor partners we've been able to land a great new customer. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

Product News from our friend Dan Ahern In Emeryville, California.
Dan, thanks for sharing!

I learned last week of a 'trending' item in our industry.... For many of you it's probably old news but for me, it was one of those "Aha!" moments.

BlenderBottle is a registered trademark for a factory that sells retail but came into ASI big time middle of last year.  The bottles are BPA free plastic, easy screw on/off, nice spout lid to drink through, and come with a round stainless steel 'whisk' ball.   I bought one for one of my sons who drinks protein powder and use it now myself. They are really great items and I can see why they are so popular. (Click image for larger pdf)

Uses: Blending or mixing drinks where one puts in powder.
Example: protein powder, 'milk shake' powder, breakfast drink powder, nutrition, diet powder, etc.
Audiences: Anyone who has to 'blend' or mix a drink OR anyone who just likes this very hot retail item Travel: They fit in most bottle holder trays in cars.
Dishwasher/top rack (domestic NOT commercial) safe

Confusion about 'exclusivity':

Per Allen Colorcraft, ASI 34330 BlenderBottle has issued only one license to print these bottles in our industry and that is to Colorcraft.

"But wait Dan! Crown Products has these! And so do some other dudes I don't know much about! What's the real truth?!";

Per Crown, they know NOTHING about an exclusive to ColorCraft and per ColorCraft they know nothing about Crown also getting an exclusive. But, both do agree that there are some knock-offs out here so that may be the real kernel of knowledge to extract.

ColorCraft
1. Pricing: NO EQP on this or any 'branded' item they sell;
2. Sells both 20 and 28 oz. Sales equal in each;
3. All lid colors offered (body is always that translucent/clear color;
4. Print one color only;

Crown:
1. Only sells 28 oz;
2. Only carries black and blue and they are not deep in inventory;
3. Can do multi-color
4. EQP yes but pricing not as good as column pricing from CC.

Common to both suppliers:
1. The BlenderBottle logo is ALWAYS on the item and it matches the lid color. So, a red lid = red BB logo, etc.
2. Logo on one side ONLY;
3. "Avoid the knockoffs who call them 'BlenderBottles'. And there are quite a few out here!

So, no need to reply. Just wanted to share with you what I am seeing as growing in popularity for HR departments, picnics, health fairs, commuters, etc.

If someone wants the real deal, go to ColorCraft first because their inventory is deep. As of today, all items were well stocked except Green. There's no forecasted arrival date of Green....

Hope this helps someone get a nice order.

...;

Dan
