Up Close & Personal 

Dan Ahern is part of that "EVille Empire" as he likes to call the office in Emeryville, CA. A 25 year veteran of our industry Dan loves sharing an office with Curtis, Diane, Stacey, and Inniki, Curt and Di's gorgeous Akita. Dan's wife Nancy is a Dairy Inspector, a.k.a. a cheese narc, for the State of California, and like Dan, is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. This is their 20th year of marriage and Dan is still waiting for Nancy to upgrade him to someone with a real job and regular income.

Dan considers being Nancy's husband and the father of Lizzie, Donovan, Eric, and Rocky the Wonder Dog the greatest privilege and blessing he could ever imagine.
"Fortunately", says Dan, "the kids all take after Nancy and ignore me most of the time which indicates great common sense and wisdom beyond their teenage years. They will go far in life having been taught at an early age the difference between sharp cheddar and American cheese. California gronw of course." Note to Dan: cheese isn't grown. Duh! Hence, Dan sells imprinted pencils and does not write reviews for "Udderly Refreshing Times."  When not at the job, Dan cheers for his kids sporting teams.

Lizzie was an All Conference volleyball player last year in her first season at Amherst, and while shoulder surgery will keep her off the court next season, she is determined to regain her form her junior year. During season Dan watched with other Dads from California via the internet and yells and hollers while wearing his purple Amherst Volleyball hat. Donovan is a senior to be in high school with eyes on playing baseball in college. Dan has been around baseball a long time and says that Donovan has a very good chance of doing just that. Like his sister, Donovan's got a great work ethic and puts in more time than his peers and is a solid all around student and a great kid too. Eric, who is about to start high school, also plays ball and the keyboard, so if the Giants don't sign him he will tour with a group to be named later. He's going out for the Frosh football team and can get no advice from Dan here as Dan's greatest success in football was when he brought pizza to a 49er gathering of friends and they liked the choice.

Rocky the Wonder Dog is half-mini Dachsund and half-toy poodle and 10.5 pounds of love. He high fives Dan every night when Dan comes home and unlike the fur-less kids, is always glad to see Dan and will still snuggle with him. Not bad, two out of five:-).
