Vacation Time: Get Away - You Deserve a Break:
As one of the "Best Places to Work", among the perks we offer our employees is the chance to get away from the office whether it be as vacation time, errand time or just a stress relief day, they all are encouraged to take time off and get away.
As I get ready to leave for a trip to the Lake for a while, I thought about how getting away from the business actually lets Suzie and I work "on" the business. When you live it like we do, there is no getting out of the office at 5:00 PM and forgetting it all. It just never happens. However a planned vacation or block of time away, gives us the chance to get away from the daily activities that encompass our days and think about the "big picture".
Most of our "grandest ideas" are discovered while we are out and about enjoying our "time off". It comes to us when we are enjoying a "beverage" at "Bubba Brews" in Lake Norris or in the middle of some blockbuster movie. So we both encourage you to "get away", leave the cares of the daily grind and relax, your focus will be clearer, your mind and body reset and you will be ready to achieve your goals for the second half of 2013.
Next week is most likely the most popular vacation week, take some time away and enjoy life. You will be surprised where your next inspiration comes from. By the way, did you know that several of our reps simply turn their business over to their customer service rep while they are "out of the office on vacation", trust them, they will help you manage your business while you get your chance to "Get Away".
Have a safe 4th of July as we all celebrate our independence yet at the same time contemplate what we can do to ensure that Our Independence is not just "Given Away".

 Up Close & Personal Brittany David is the National Accounts Manager at SnugZ USA. In her spare time you can find her on the ski slopes, catching a concert or watching sports. She is a fan of all of her hometown sports teams: the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys - although she is even more passionate about her alma mater, Texas A&M. Each week I would like to feature a project from one of our reps, but I need your help. Tell me a story of an item, a success you had, list the item number and if you want to share the dollar amount or gross profit on the order fine. If not, at least tell us how you sold, who (even if you want to keep the customer to yourself - just a generic industry), how was it used or distributed and to whom? Another great reason to use vendors we know, like and trust!
Check out this importer who was caught illegally bringing in children's products. This is just a great example of why we are so ardent about using the suppliers that we already know, even if you are tempted by that "low ball price". No supplier has every order go perfectly, which is why it is even more important to have suppliers who are committed to us when the "chips are down". Anyone can be great when all goes perfectly smooth, but when it goes "sideways" who has your back? You better KNOW them well. We have your back which is why we turn down suppliers and orders every day. If you are considering a supplier not on our preferred list, or not on the list of suppliers that we have done at least $5,000.00 dollars with in the last 12 months, ask us before you QUOTE the job. We have plenty of resources to check out a supplier, including their credit history.
