Client & Intern Perspectives
Mike Dwyer, the Boeing Company, St. Louis's Director of Environmental Health and Safety
Dwyer, who hired P2 intern, Sean Crockett (pictured above), as a full-time employee after completing a summer project in 2008, says, "All contact with the Environmental Assistance Center was very good. I was especially impressed with the interest shown by Marie and her team regarding the value provided by the Center, student development, and any additional interest or service which could be supported."
Dave Evans, Manager of American Commercial Lines, St. Louis Terminal
"Hiring a P2 intern was definitely worth the upfront cost. Basically Aziz took the initiative to do everything for the project on his own and he's been tenacious. One of these days Aziz will run a company; his work speaks for itself."
Koketso Makhafola, 2012 P2 Intern Kraft Foods, Kirksville
"There are hidden costs everywhere. It's amazing how you can change one part of a system and reduce costs for the entire system."

The Pollution Prevention Internship Program
The P2 Intern program accepts upper-level students from engineering colleges across Missouri. Interns are recruited from top-performing students who successfully complete coursework in applied engineering and sustainable business practices. The course teaches students how to identify, measure and analyze opportunities for equipment and operational efficiencies and cost reductions. The interns are matched with manufacturers, health care facilities, schools, data centers, businesses and municipalities anywhere in Missouri for a summer job where they apply their knowledge to improving environmental performance. Ongoing technical support is offered through the MOEAC and College of Engineering. To learn more about hiring a P2 intern, visit our P2 business page or download an application here.
