Through late January and early February I had the opportunity to speak to many Brimmer and May alumni. Each alumna/alumnus inspired me with his or her stories and experience. Collectively, they are a purpose-driven, informed, engaging group of people who speak about Brimmer with love and respect. They told stories about how their teachers shaped their lives and how the education they received propelled them into interesting careers and countless hours of volunteering in their communities. They name Brimmer as the place where they found their voice, courage, and determination.
The ages of the alumni I visited spanned from 24 to 96 years of age. Young alumnus Patrick Pierre-Victor '10 shared that, after graduating from Skidmore College, his year-long teaching position in China showed him how a diverse population lives. He is now happily employed at the NYU Medical Center in their business department. Patrick speaks Mandarin and French with a full appreciation for having a global perspective that serves him well in his new position. Nathalie McCulloch, Brimmer '37, spoke about how her life has been filled with adventure and volunteer work. A world traveler, with her most recent trip to the North Pole at the age of 94, she values the diversity of our School and speaks knowledgeably of our world's challenges. She spoke about her time at Brimmer School on Brimmer Street in Boston when World War II was presenting many challenges for the students. She shared her view on the importance of a Brimmer education that prepares our students for a challenging future.
Our alumni support Brimmer in many ways and represent a large portion of the generous gifts toward the Realizing the Vision Campaign. They want our students today to have the same rich life, full of the opportunities and purpose, they themselves are grateful to have.

Have You Completed a Parent Survey?
Dear Parents,
Brimmer is conducting a Parent Survey that is designed to give you an opportunity to share your opinions about the School and to offer comments relative to its programs and offerings. The School has engaged Horgan Marketing LLC, an independent marketing firm, to administer the survey.
So that we can better understand how you view the School and its programs, we are asking for your help in completing an online questionnaire. It should take only about ten minutes to answer the survey questions; your input will be very helpful to the School.
You can access the questionnaire appropriate for your family by clicking on the link below:
Upper School Parent Survey
If you have any difficulty accessing or completing the survey, please e-mail Horgan Marketing at pj@horganmarketing.com.
Kindly complete the survey by February 26, 2016.
Please be assured that all information and responses will be kept anonymous by Horgan Marketing.
Thank you in advance for your help; your responses will be extremely valuable to us.
Sincerely,

Dear Lower School Families,
Today's Celebration of Arts was a great way for families of students in Grade 1 and 2 to be treated to an outstanding exhibit of art and a powerful demonstration of what occurs in music and drama classes. The poise and confidence that Brimmer students display in events such as this and during their Exhibitions of Knowledge reflect the importance of having a strong creative arts program integrated into the classroom curriculum. Mark your calendars for the Grades 4 and 5 musical on March 10 and 11 and the Grade 3 French plays on April 15.
An important reminder: Parent Conferences will be taking place this coming Wednesday, February 24 (limited spots on other days). If you have not signed up for a conference, please call Ms. Beech at 617-566-7462.

College "Mythbuster" Meeting
Last Thursday evening a group of of parents from Grades 9 and 10 met in the Wright Conference Room to learn about the college process at Brimmer. This informal discussion included a PowerPoint highlighting the monthly calendar of events sponsored by the College Counseling Team as well as a lively question and answer session with Mr. Iuliano and Mrs. Pendergast. We hope this sparked the interest of those who attended and helped to open the lines of communication for what we believe can be a low stress, enjoyable process.
