Welcome back to school! I hope you and your children are ready for a busy and exciting year! It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Opening Coffees. After the coffees, I walked around campus, and your children looked great, acted eager to learn, and were happy to be back to School.

The Middle and Upper Schoolers enjoyed the glorious weather at their orientation camps while our Lower Schoolers benefitted from the quiet campus under bright sunshine. As you walk around campus, I hope you will take notice of our increased focus on the STEAM disciplines as well as our enduring commitment to the arts and humanities. On our website you can read about the various professional development programs and trainings our faculty engaged in over the summer. I am once again impressed with the loving and steadfast commitment our faculty and staff have for the children we serve.

Warm wishes to all of you for a great Labor Day weekend. I look forward to seeing the campus full with students of every age on Tuesday.

Sincerely,

Judith Guild
Head of School

News from Lower School

Dear Lower School Families,

Well, the weather certainly cooperated this week, especially for those who like it hot! Courtney, the teachers, and I enjoyed seeing you all at the Class Visits, and what more can be said about my favorite day of the year--it's always terrific to have students back in our buildings!

If you did not meet with your child's homeroom teachers on Monday or Tuesday to discuss goals, please arrange to do so early next week. The progress report that will come out in October is partially based on your goal-setting meeting with your child's teacher.

A few thoughts about dismissal: Lining up on Devon Road may be a little difficult to start the year, but please be patient. Please remember not to block driveways; also, we may ask Gr. 4 and 5 cars that arrive before 3:00 p.m. (M-Thur.) and 2:30 p.m. (Friday) to go around the block. Please make sure you write your child's name on your green (Pre-K&K), yellow (1-3), and blue (4&5) tag that should be hung from your car's inside mirror. Thanks for your help, and please realize the first week of dismissal can be challenging!

Best wishes,
Thomas Fuller                                Courtney P. McGillicuddy
