In a few weeks we will be hosting our annual auction. This year's theme "Passport to the World" will celebrate the School's focus on providing our students with a global perspective. Recently, our Upper School students returned from trips with their teachers, and I listened to them exclaim about their experience, saying phrases such as "life changing," "best experience of my life," "amazing people in our world," and the trip "helped me understand the more important things in life."

I hope you will join us at this year's "Passport to the World" auction to support this important fundraiser. If you are unable to attend, please consider biding online, which will open next Wednesday the 15th at noon.

Importantly, each year at the auction we honor a long-term employee who has had a positive impact on our children's lives. This year we are delighted to be honoring our Lower School Head, Thomas Fuller. I am pleased to have an opportunity to speak about Thomas and his wonderful contributions to our School and children. For those who cannot join us, we will be posting the evening's highlights on our website.

Sincerely,

Judy Guild

Head of School

Dear Lower School Families,

Although there is still snow on the playground, Ms. McGillicuddy and I are declaring the end of winter (knock on wood)! As a result of this declaration, grades 1-3 dismissal will return to its normal routine on Monday with the first car stopping just past the double gate.

Third grade parents: Students will be performing their two French Plays next Friday--do not miss this extraordinary presentation! There will be a reception at 8:00 a.m., and the plays will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Best wishes,

Thomas Fuller                             Courtney P. McGillicuddy

Band Master Class

On Friday, April 17, our Fourth and Fifth Grade Band students will welcome expert musicians to observe their morning rehearsal. Our guests are instructors in our After-School Music Program--familiar faces to our young musicians. These visiting artists will sit in each section of the band (flute, clarinet, saxophone, brass, percussion, and keyboard). Their role is to listen, share celebratory comments, and offer a few helpful suggestions. During this collaborative experience, students will demonstrate what they have been preparing for performance. Their efforts will be showcased at our Share Assembly on May 8 and Spring Concert on May 14.

Mrs. Wooster is arranging this opportunity so that our students can feel part of a larger musical community and enjoy the benefits of working with professional musicians in an ensemble setting. Please encourage your child to practice at home and ensure that she/he remembers to bring her/his instrument and binder that day.
