Greetings!
On Sunday we will be welcoming ten visitors to campus as part of the NEASC re-accreditation process. The NEASC Team will be visiting your children's classes, observing meetings, and attending events as part of their effort to evaluate our School's programs in relation to our mission. In early September the team was sent our 180-page self-study report that describes the work we do at Brimmer and May. The students in grades 6-12 will be introduced to the team at Monday's morning meeting. The classroom teachers will introduce the visitors to the children in the Lower School when they attend their class or event.
I am impressed with all the work our faculty and staff have done to make this a successful visit and process. I am confident that our outstanding student body, exceptional teachers and administrators, dedicated staff, and impressive programs will earn us high marks. Later this fall or early in the winter I will share the results with the community from the team's visit. The Visiting Team will submit their report to NEASC, and the Association will write their response in a re-accreditation report.
Please note that we will be bussing the NEASC team to and from School to avoid parking and traffic issues. I hope you will join me in welcoming our visitors to Brimmer and May when you see them.
Sincerely, Judy Guild Head of School

A Request from Nurse Beth Escobar
There are a number of students with allergies and asthma who do not have any Epi-Pens or inhalers at School. If your child is one of them, please bring Epi-Pens and inhalers to my office, so I can keep them for your child in case of an emergency. The ones from last year have expired. This is a very important request. I want to keep everyone at Brimmer and May safe and healthy!
Thank you,
Nurse Beth

Notes from the Lower School Head
Dear Lower School Families,
I hope you all enjoyed the opportunity to sit down with your children's teacher to discuss goals for the year. We feel this is an important and positive way to start the family and School relationship for the year. On Thursday our Fifth Graders will have an opportunity to learn more about Middle School by having lunch with Mr. Gordon, Head of Middle School; teachers; and students. The Fifth Graders will also visit Middle School classes. On Friday, October 19, I will host a meeting in the Lower School library for third grade families from 8:15 to 8:50 a.m. Mrs. Iuliano will join us to talk about science.
Best wishes,
Thomas Fuller
Head of Lower School

PA Meetings
Thank you to those who attended the PA Meeting last week. We had an interesting discussion about what to expect as a parent during the upcoming year and learned some great tips on how to maximize the use of the School website. For example, did you know that you can filter and sort the School's Master Calendar according to your families priorities and then push it directly to your iCal or other electronic calendar? For information on how to do this and to learn other helpful tips visit the PA Downloads section of the School website.
The next PA meeting will be held on Thursday November 1 at 8:15 a.m. The PA leadership does recognize that not all parents are available to attend morning meetings. If that applies to you, don't worry! The PA will be hosting an evening meeting early in 2013. Details to follow.
