He Continues to Make a Difference is a resource for high school educators that includes information and best practices for supporting LGBT students and developing an LGBT-inclusive curriculum, along with classroom resources and lessons aligned with ELA Common Core State Standards.  Click here to learn more.  


 

 




2.) LGBTQ-Inclusive Lesson Planning Guide - May 

As you are planning your lessons for May, you may find it helpful to integrate some of the following, to infuse LGBTIQ/2-spirit* cultural awareness into the every day life of your classroom.  Those teaching history, civics, social studies, family & consumer sciences, or language arts, item #3 will be useful in teaching writing skills.  Please click here to learn more about this Safe Schools Coalition resource.  

 



3.) LGBT Pride Month Guide for Teachers
Plan ahead for Pride Month this coming June.  GLSEN's guide for teachers offers resources for including LGBT themes and history into your curriculum.  Please click here to learn more.  


4.) Asian Pacific Islander Heroes of the LGBT Community

Asian American and Pacific Islanders are a diverse and important part of the LGBT community.  API individuals have a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, which include all countries on the Asian continent, as well as several Pacific islands.  GLSEN's API Heritage Month Heroes downloadable flier has information about nine notable API heroes.  It's perfect for sharing.  Print off copies and pass them out to members of your GSA, teachers and fellow classmates.  Please click here to learn more.

 

 

 



5.) Unheard Voices: Stories of LGBT History

GLSEN, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and StoryCorps have collaborated to create Unheard Voices, an oral history and curriculum project helping educators integrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history, people and issues into their instructional programs.  This curriculum is intended for grades 6-12.  Please click here to learn more.
