1.) LGBTQ-Inclusive Lesson Planning Guide 

     
  
October is National LGBT History Month.  Safe Schools Coalition has gathered resources that will allow you to integrate important aspects of this history into your curriculum.  Highlights include: important definitions, notable LGBTQI2A figures, resources for National Coming Out day, and much, much more.  Click here to access this wonderful resource.  



2.) 5 Ways Using Correct Gender Pronouns Will Make You a Better Trans* Ally
Language has power!  The following article asks us to consider how cisgender people can become better allies to members of the trans* community simply by noticing and shifting their use of pronouns.  Click here to access this powerful article.



3.) October is National Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a perfect time to reflect upon the steps that your school is taking in order to ensure that all members of the community feel safe, supported, and celebrated. 4.) When Did it Happen?  LGBT History Lesson for Grades 9-12
The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is celebrating LGBT History Month by honoring past, present and future leaders of the LGBT rights movement!  Click here to download this free lesson.

 



5.) GLSEN's Ally Week

Ally Week is a week for students to engage in a national conversation and action to become better allies to LGBT youth.  This doesn't only mean straight and cisgender allies, but everyone!  Click here to read further about how anyone can be a better ally against anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) language, bullying and harassment in America's schools.
