Long Island Beach Replenishment
With funds from the Sandy Relief Act signed into law, the US Army Corps of Engineers is restoring and will complete an existing dune and berm project put in place before Superstorm Sandy hit the New Jersey coast. The sections that had been in place prior to the storm protected the properties behind them, whereas the communities on either side of the dunes were significantly damaged by Sandy.
