Charlotte just went to sleep. I'm walking to the kitchen to make some tea when I hear the strangest sound coming from outside. A primal screech almost guttural, haunting, reverberating among the oaks outside. I peak outside and it's a blanket of black but the sound is getting stronger. I think to myself 'it sound like what a baby dinosaur would sound like. A baby hawk maybe fallen out of it's nest . . .?' I go outside and it is loud and getting more ferocious. Sounds almost like what i imagine one would hear in the jungles of Borneo. I go back inside in my slip nightgown and grab the flashlight (thank you mom). I begin to venture along the path and as I descend into the sea of dark and unknown. I feel as if i am in a dream facing my demons. I'm afraid and almost turn back, but then I see the rabbit hutch is bouncing in all directions. The rabbit we just adopted is going berserk. The ladies (chickens) seem to be pretending they are invisible which would strike me as funny if my heart wasn't beating out of my skin. Then I see it. As my flashlight directs it's beam I see something which my mind does not register at first. It stares at me surprised. I am frozen on the spot. Then it bolts down towards the empty creek bed as fast as lightening. I go get the new white bunny and decide then and there to baptize him as Lucky. I take it up to the house. I realize when I come inside I just had an encounter with a rather large bob cat. I also sadly realize where our last two bunnies have disappeared to. The cat was striped and had tufts along it's ears. The eyes were big cat eyes almost yellow or green. After calming Lucky and myself down, I go and look up Bob cat medicine. It seems it is rare to see one. They are stealth and solitary. They represent the secret world and of bringing one heightened awareness.

I would say my 'heightened awareness' is making me realize more and more why we must all take a stand against GMO's. This year 41% of Americans will get cancer. The silent killers in the food supply are spreading and we can at least know what we eat by voting yes on prop. 37 which would make labeling a necessity. This week we meet with Alice Bamford from One Gun Ranch who is fighting the good fight by growing incredible organic produce and more. We also see the short film from V Day to stop Violence against women which blew my socks off! That and more . . . .
