To go on the back of a motor cycle or not? That is the question . . . It's hard to say no when you've tasted the wind and seen the moon coming over the canyon on the back of your love's bike. I thought it was over with my love, but we have decided to reconsider our parting. A few weeks ago I went to see him and he took me for a ride on his motor bike. We flew over canyons and abandoned roads to Angeles Crest where the sky literally went from blue to red to orange to dark blue again. Feeling the air current change, and seeing the terrain evolve as we climbed higher and higher up to the stars. The trees burned in some areas from the terrible fires a few years ago . . . scorched, reminders of how love can scorch us at times and then . . . rebirth, the new green shoots covering the old dead branches of the past. I felt like we were the only ones on the planet that night. Not a soul in sight. Not even others on motor bikes. Just the sound of the wind, the engine, and feeling my love's vulnerable back against my full heart . . .
This week we meet the talented and prolific designer Wendy Polish, discover some organic snacks for the wee ones, and literally step into gentle souls . . . Next week I will share some love from the Garden Isle of Kauai and more. I hope you are enjoying the winding down days of summer.
