Taste
Steele Wines, Kelseyville     Steele Wines

Jed Steele has been involved in winemaking in California for forty-five years. He began as a cellar worker in 1968, obtained his Master's Degree from UC Davis, and started his own winery, Steele Wines, in 1991. During this time he has been able to produce wines from just about every top quality region in the state. The line-up of vineyards which Steele either owns or from which they purchase grapes has evolved over the years and they consistently draw on some of the finest vineyards in California.

From viewing the actual number of wines they bottle, one might think they are a large winery, which is not the case. They specialize in many wines where the final bottling is less than 1,000 cases; this approach allows them to maintain the practice of true craftsmanship in the production of small lot bottling. From hand picked grapes to gentle processing at their own bottling facility, they know how the grapes are cared for from vineyard to bottle, and believe a lighter hand in the winemaking will highlight the aromas and the flavor of the quality fruit sourced.

Tasting Room open Monday - Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
