Best Laid Plans Not Wasted by Travel Cancellation

Last Friday (Aug 5), the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) was among a group invited to join the Manitoba Government on a trip to Churchill in the wake of the closure of the port and reduction in freight services. Unfortunately, unsettled weather grounded the trip before it even began.

Despite the change of plans, the group, that included representatives from MCC, Travel Manitoba, Calm Air, Northern Manitoba Sector Council, and other Northern stakeholders spent the day in meeting with Minister's Cliff Cullen and Scott Fielding. The impromptu meetings are the first stage in work towards a long-term solution towards economic development in the North.

MCC President Chuck Davidson shares his views on the current state of Northern Manitoba as Premier Brain Pallister (L) and Chief of Staff Philip Houde (C) listen.

Despite the disappointment in the trip being postponed, work is already underway to secure another date to travel to Churchill and start face-to-face discussions towards the economic development critical to growth for the region and the province.

First Data's Meet or Beat Promotion Extended Until the End of 2016

The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and First Data, a leader in the electronic payment processing industry, have partnered to bring you exclusive benefits to help grow your business.

Together we are ready to help you with preferred pricing and products tailored to suit your needs.

At First Data Canada, they look for every opportunity to help customers leverage more value from each transaction - developing new solutions to make them simpler, faster, safer and more rewarding.

If you're looking for a reason to move your payment processing to First Data, this could be it!  First Data knows that there are a lot of offers out in the marketplace. Often sales reps will walk in the door with an appealing "flash rate" - the first thing that businesses see about any program but not always the most accurate indicator of savings!

First Data is extending the "Meet or Beat' offer so that their reps can analyze your payment processing statement and if First Data can't "meet or beat" your current payment processing fees, they'll give you a $1000 MasterCard gift card!

First Data Canada offers merchants wide selection devices and payment options, so you never have to say "no" to a customer's preferred payment method. Plus, the Chamber has negotiated market-leading rates for our services, which are not open to seasonal price adjustments.

Our merchant advisors are here to help you figure out the right mix of devices and services to serve your business and customer needs. For more information, please click here.
