Time Travelers Ball Recap
Time Travelers Ball
PLF's Time Travelers Ball: Equinox Adventures was held March 19 at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. The event was a huge hit, with costumed attendees enjoying delicious food, live music and dancing, intriguing museum exhibits, Digital Dome movies, and an equinox-inspired egg-balancing contest. The Doctor Who-style TARDIS photo booth was an amazement to all.

PLF extends a hearty thank you to all who participated in the ball. These generous sponsors helped make the ball possible: City of Fort Collins Fort Fund, The Coloradoan, Colorado State University, Odell Brewing Co., Wattle & Daub Contractors, Denise Staab of The Group Inc., Masonville Mercantile, The Life of the Party, and Wear It Again, Sam. We'd also like to extend a special thank you to the PLF board of directors, the many volunteers who donated their time and labor, all the guests who attended the ball, and Dick Spiess, who constructed the TARDIS.

Avery House Volunteer Wins Award
You may have met Karol Harding on one of your tours of the Avery House. This long-time docent is also an expert costume designer and seamstress. Each year the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has a themed contest for all DAR members who are artists and craft experts. In this year's contest, Ms. Harding was selected as the National First Place Winner in the category of Historic Costume. Ms. Harding credits her work with the Avery House costume committee with advancing her education on historic costumes.

PLF congratulates Ms. Harding and is proud to share the news about her well-deserved award.
Avery House & Water Works Make Great Photo Ops
Recognize the stone wall? It is the retaining wall behind the 1883 Water Works! Rent our historic properties for your own photo shoots.
Historic settings are not just for weddings. The picturesque atmospheres that historic sites offer are great for photo shoots. The Avery House is a well-loved spot for weddings, but did you know that you can rent the Avery House, the Carriage House, and the Water Works for other purposes, such as senior pictures, business photo shoots, club meetings, family reunions, and more?

The Avery House and the Water Works are a favorite photo-shoot spot of a few crafting publications edited and produced in Northern Colorado. Check out Vintage Modern Crochet at right (click the photo to see the book on Amazon.com).
