| The Network of Korean-American Leaders (NetKAL) hosted a visit to the Republic of Korea to strengthen existing ties and expand its growing network of connections between the United States and the Pacific Rim. NetKAL leadership, advisors and fellows, who are nurtured by NetKAL to become well-rounded, civic-minded leaders to effect transformation at all levels of society, attended the weeklong trip that took them to multiple sites of interest, including the War Memorial of Korea, Samsung headquarters and the presidential Blue House. | An innovative funding award linked to national health care reform efforts will enable Professor Bruce Jansson to explore how health professionals can advocate for the needs of vulnerable patients. The two-year $664,852 project is funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), which promotes research that helps patients and caregivers make better-informed health decisions.
