The Network of Korean-American Leaders (NetKAL) hosted a visit to the Republic of Korea to strengthen existing ties and expand its growing network of connections between the United States and the Pacific Rim. NetKAL leadership, advisors and fellows, who are nurtured by NetKAL to become well-rounded, civic-minded leaders to effect transformation at all levels of society, attended the weeklong trip that took them to multiple sites of interest, including the War Memorial of Korea, Samsung headquarters and the presidential Blue House. The annual NetKAL gala and summit were also held during this week in Seoul. Read more

USC School of Social Work faculty have been making the rounds in our nation's capital, participating in high-level discussions and sharing their knowledge in veterans affairs, behavioral health, child welfare and geriatric care. Associate Professor Maria Aranda, left, presented findings in a Congressional briefing from an Institute of Medicine report on the need for better trained geriatric caregivers. Read more
An innovative funding award linked to national health care reform efforts will enable Professor Bruce Jansson to explore how health professionals can advocate for the needs of vulnerable patients. The two-year $664,852 project is funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), which promotes research that helps patients and caregivers make better-informed health decisions. Read more
School Hosts U.S.-Korea Ambassadors Dialogue

Kim and Choi Young-jin, the Korean ambassador to the United States, discussed the state of U.S.-Korean relations at this event co-sponsored by the Korea Economic Institute.
