S0utheastern SEWN Aids in Recovery from the   "Perfect Storm"
Inteprod, LLC is an award-winning medical product developer and contract manufacturer providing turnkey manufacturing services to leading device makers and emerging innovators worldwide.

Since its founding in late 2004, Inteprod had experienced rapid and sustained growth. However, in 2011, the convergence of the "perfect storm" of unforeseeable events and the slow economic recovery halted growth and led to a financial crisis. Three long-term clients experienced separate disastrous events that left Inteprod with excess specialized inventory and limited working capital.

SEWN provided consultants, financial advice and strategies, and the outside support and perspective Inteprod needed to help address and resolve its business issues. SEWN helped Inteprod create a plan to stabilize and reorganize the company, retaining 18 employees.

Today, Inteprod is back on track. The company has added several new clients and is currently hiring additional employees.
Western SEWN Prices Powder Coating
A small Northwestern manufacturer of powdered metal products and value-added operations served a number of industries. The NWIRC referred this company to SEWN after the company suffered a fire that destroyed office space and disrupted operations for its 11 employees.

Part of the damage included the documentation for its cost accounting and estimating system. The company was struggling to maintain its existing system. It was not in a position to purchase and implement a new full-scale system, but was concerned about the current system's functionality as the company saw an increase in bidding opportunities following the recession.

SEWN worked with the company and designed a simple Excel-based costing and pricing model for them that is easy to use and maintain internally. The company now has a clear picture of their costs and can confidently bid on new contracts.
Central SEWN Forms a new Forecast
A Central Pennsylvania plastics processor that designs, develops and manufactures thermoformed plastic components and assemblies experienced a severe decline in its cash flow.

The local IRC enlisted SEWN's assistance to identify the root cause of the company's declining profit margins. This assessment showed that the company's product mix was changing from high-value, high-profit products to low-value, low-profit products. SEWN provided forecasting models and financial and operational structuring options to focus on improving the company's labor productivity, reduce costs and improve cash flow.

SEWN also worked with the company's financial institution to demostrate the projected profitability of the restructured company. As a result, when the company began to experience previous levels of profitability, the financial institution restored the company to a healthy banking relationship, saving 30 jobs.
Northeastern SEWN Enhances Logistics
A Northeastern Pennsylvania logistics and contract manufacturing firm began to experience financial issues related to compliance with loan covenants held with its bank.

The company's attorney and CPA referred to company to SEWN to provide assistance with refinancing. After meeting with the company and assessing their situation, SEWN ascertained that the company would be a good candidate for an SBA 504 Loan through SEDA-COG.

SEWN facilitated the meeting with the company and its new partners to move forward and successfully secure its financing and the jobs of its 100 employees.
