BBB Advises Donors On Giving After Ferguson Events
The shooting of an unarmed teen and protests in Ferguson left many people with unmet needs. Established and newly formed charities stepped in to help, but donors sometimes were confused about which organizations would use their funds wisely and whether their donations would be tax deductible. BBB offered resources to help donors evaluate charities and make wise giving decisions.
Charities Share Methods For Measuring Impact
Charities are using dashboards and scorecards to measure their effectiveness, but they also need to share stories that show how they are meeting their missions, speakers at BBB's Charity Symposium told more than 100 nonprofit leaders Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac. BBB Guide Helps Donors Find Accredited Charities
BBB's new Guide to BBB Accredited Charities is designed to help donors, businesses and others find charities that are transparent. The guide includes links to each charity's BBB Charity Review, contact information, its mission and a link to the charity's website. The 200-plus charities listed in this guide have all met BBB's 20 Standards of Charity Accountability.
