SUCCESS STORY
Snack Stackers
Shannon Armstrong came to the Morehead State University Small Business Development Center from a referral from Barry Frazier, loan officer at Peoples Exchange Bank in Mount Sterling. Shannon was looking to purchase a vending route in Mt. Sterling. He had traveled with the current owner and had looked at the 100 machines in over 55 locations. He came in and talked with Mark Murphy, Management Consultant at the Morehead SBDC. They discussed insurance, legal structure, credit, the loan process, pricing. They worked on getting three year projections put together for the lender. Once they got the final draft completed, Shannon submitted his loan package. After a few revisions, the loan was approved and Shannon purchased the vending route. Shannon started his business, Snack Stackers, in July and stated, "It was great working with the Small Business Development Center, and they helped a lot." Shannon's success story is a great example of someone who was able to take advantage of the SBDC'S free assistance to help get the things together to help make business ownership a reality.
