What Staff are Reading

Julie just finished...

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
by Elizabeth Gilbert

In a conversational, second-person style, the author of Eat, Pray, Love encourages readers to follow curiosity and create whatever brings joy. Even if a creative work is never published/displayed/well-known, the act of creating sustains the soul. Gilbert guides the creative reader toward putting aside fear and insecurities to make way for the often-mysterious inspiration that leads to a creative life. (She tells some humorous stories along the way... my favorite was the costume party! And how about that Ann Patchett book?)
