For ages 2 - 5 with an adult
Read, sing, and play at the library during bi-weekly story time while developing early literacy skills. Story time is followed by a craft and playtime.

For ages birth - 24 months with an adult
Rhymes, songs, bounces, and a story. Followed by social playtime. A great opportunity for parents to meet people in the community! 

Jelly Bean County Contest: Spring Kick-Off  
Saturday, April 2 from noon to 3:00 p.m.
For ALL AGES
Guess how many jelly beans are in our jar. Closest guess wins a Lego prize! This event is part of Historic Stevensville Art & Entertainment District's Spring Kick-Off. Count the jellybeans in other Historic Stevensville shops! More info at stevensvilleartsandentertainment.org.

 
Hopscotch: Spring Kick-Off

Reading with Friends

Join us for a read aloud by children's author Cindy Freland. Cindy's books include Jordan the Jellyfish, Curtis the Crab, Heather the Honey Bee, and Oakley the Oyster. Children in attendance will receive a free book from the Friends of Queen Anne's County Library in celebration of National Library Week. Love to write? Practice your craft and be inspired by others who enjoy creative writing. Bring your writing tools or use our paper and pens.
We'll try free writing and themed prompts in your choice of poetry or prose.

Book Buddies: How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell

Design a Birdhouse 
Saturday, April 23 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
For Kdg. - grade 2
Design and create a birdhouse out of everyday materials such as milk jugs and 2 liter soda bottles. Children will learn how changing the type of fork and size of the birdhouse will attract different types of birds. Taught by Matthew Ward of QACPS and Forward Learning Institute. Attracting and Feeding Monarch Butterflies

Back by popular demand - Jim Wilson will expound on the life cycle and habitat of the Monarch butterfly. The food supply for these butterflies and their eggs is dwindling and their numbers are in decline. Learn why this is happening and what you can do to help. Milkweed seeds to plant will be handed out to participants.
